Eligible under what criteria? He changed High Schools and did not move? What makes him eligible?karl(east) wrote:Duluth East junior Luke Dow has been ruled eligible by the MSHSL and can suit up for the Hounds' varsity squad tonight. Good news for DE, obviously, as their offense will benefit from a dynamic player like him.

Private to Public, can be financial hardship. Residence might already be in East's district. Did he start at his first school in 9th grade?buttend wrote:Eligible under what criteria? The school, nor the MSHSL are under obligation to report the criteria. Word will eventually leak out that the family suffered financial hardship, the kid was bullied, or they didn't have a specific cello program that he needed to further his orchestral career.buttend wrote:Eligible under what criteria? After transferring, Dow had initially been deemed ineligible for varsity by the AD or someone in the district administration. The Dows appealed that ruling to the MSHSL, arguing for one of the possible exceptions (some of which were listed by Bluewhitefan). They won their case, which was heard at the MSHSL's monthly meeting today.alcloseshaver wrote:There doesn't seem to be to much here compared to some of the other abuses or can someone enlighten me.Bluewhitefan wrote:The school, nor the MSHSL are under obligation to report the criteria. As for the Edina situation, the player in question there could presumably appeal the handling of his case also, but it would have to wait for the next MSHSL meeting.
