Chewing

Post by chillout »

There's gotta be some chewers on here...or "dippers" if yall gonna get technical like that. Anyone that likes to pack the huge dip before a little outdoor hockey? Or maybe just relaxing with some of your buddies? Preference of brand?

Never said chewing was good for ya....it's a terrible habit. Just figured I'd get a topic about it going for some chat.

I've always been a fan of Kodiak Wintergreen or Ice.

When I was 18ish, I worked with a bunch of chewers who talked me into trying it.

I started feeling nauseus and my eyes stated watering within seconds. As I was changing colors with tears running down my face, my co-workers proceeded to ridicule me so harshly that I decided that would be the last time I ever touch the stuff.

So to answer your question, I have no opinion. I'm Irish... and perfectly happy with my booze.

I prefer the old big dip before an outdoor game, id go with either Cope Straight or Grizzley Wintergreen, stay away from Skoal

It sure isn't. Lets not forget Kodiak Ice....sells for 7 bucks a tin at most places I've seen.

Jeesh.

yep, I stay away from anything $6 and over, the funny thing about it is, the Cheaper Chew is always the Best.

I knew that thread was out there and did a quick look for it, but didn't notice it. Thanks for finding that one. A good reminder of what can be in store.

I don't do it!
You shouldn't do it!

But as they say it is a free world, oh, wait, health insurance and care.
I guess it is not completely free or painless.

Sorry to rain on your parade but some parades are not worth holding.
My parents, siblings, good friends and relatives told me 'NO'.
I am just tryng to return the favor.

I personally know of two guys who have throat cancer right now in their early 30's. They have both been "dippers" since HS. One is one his death bed and has a very close cousin who is still doing it. I guess all the warnings, pictures, research and personal experiences are not enough to drive the point about the dangers into some peoples skulls.

Good luck to those who think its cool.

I'm a skoal mint kind of guy but since I'm a broke college student all I can afford is grizzly mint...

The question that I have for all parents and coaches is do they really know how many kids in high school hockey actually chew tobacco?

I chewed for most of my high school years. It was easy to get and cheap after i graduated i swallow a dip when one of my buddies punched me in the gut. I well vomited and i haven't chewed since i can't even stand the smell of it.
