Players stayed

Look no further than Centennial last year. Here's a group of kids that won a Bantam State Title and stayed together to win State. Wish it happened more often. Homegrown talent, developed in a local youth program enjoying success at the highest level...without any open enrollment or recruiting.
</...

NSP Players Back?

Does anyone know what the status is of the suspended players from the Polars? I thought they weren't eligible to play until this coming Friday, but heard they all played Saturday?

Either way, tonight's tilt with the Bears should be a good one. Anyone know what time they play and what the othe...

Victory Sports Response

I emailed Victory and got this response:

We understand your concerns. We want ALL Twins fans to be able to watch Twins baseball and our other regional sports programming. We will continue to work hard to ensure Twins baseball will be available to you and fans across the region - and ask the...

Victory...

Victory is a funny name for something no one seems to exactly be rallying around. The fans are torqued, the cable/satellite folks think the plan is unreasonable, and the Twins can't do any better than putting poor Gardy up as the mouthpiece trying to sell the love. I understand where the concept mak...

Classiest move I've ever seen

I need to watch the tape, but in the AA Championship, I think RJ Anderson of Centennial and a Moorhead player picked up the wrong sticks after a pile in front of the Centennial net, and then as they were both skating back toward the other end, realized they had the wrong sticks and tossed them to on...

Sports Illustrated is on the stands

The SI 50 states in 50 weeks is out featuring our beloved HS Hockey tourney. Great cover wrap photo of Centennial's Greg Flynn! Decent article, too bad it had to go to press so fast (article shows). SSP fans will love the main photo in the article with Nick Stalock featured who is heading to Air For...

Centennial's Greg Flynn/Herb Brooks Award

I couldn't be happier for Greg to receive this new award. Not only is he a quality young man, but he quietly went about playing some of the best defense this tournament has ever seen! I had a few posts going into and throughout this tournament trying to make the case for the lights out D this team p...

Centennial is Ice

How cool is it to see a team earn and play to the #1 ranking all season. Then, win the section, and make it to the state championship without ever looking rattled. How many times have we seen teams make it to the tourney and fold under the pressure (often to return the next year)? This is an impress...

Flynn

It was Ryan #12 who is out for tonight's game. Tough break but I say it motivates the Cougars even more and they come up with a 3-1 victory. Stutz is stepping up bigtime, and Moorhead's goalie is still trying to figure out what happened last night with the late goals.

Prediction

I watched Wayzata play Centennial. Seemed to me that Wayzata didn't want to try and skate with the Cougars and played plenty of clutch and grab. Big players in big games step up, and so far into the tourney even a not 100% Gorowsky keeps getting the job done. Stutz is rising to the challenge and see...

Not the crew that worked the Hill/Centennial Section Championship. Worst officiating I've ever seen.

Cent/AHA

I'll agree with formercentennialgoalie and look for the centennial pressure to get the job done. Too many weapons when the stakes are the highest with this club. I don't think they'll let AHA get the quick start they did in the Schwann Cup championship game. If the Cougars jump out, they're awesome ...

Cell Phones

Trivia: When building the Excel, they added more cell antennas than any building ever built to ensure great reception anywhere in the building (to promote the Ex for business conventions). I think they have something like 200 antennas in the building. My lame cell phone works perfect in the Excel! <...

Game Analysis

I must agree with Centennial being an all around big game team this year. I tend to think not being there might be an advantage. I sensed Hill put way too much pressure on themselves Friday with the tradition and all nipping at their heals all game. Centennial started the year ranked #1, which when ...
