TRF @ Warroad 1-18-07 Predictions

This game should be a exciting one since the last time TRF was in Warroad they took the win in mulitiple overtimes to go to the State Tourney. The Gardens should be full, and the Hockey should be exciting! My Prediction is TRF will win this one by one maybe two goals. The key for TRF will be to shut Marvin down and score early.

TRF should be pumped up to play this game. I'll take them in a 4-3 victory.

These teams have played some great games in the past 5 years I expect another epic battle. The talent gap has closed recently as well as TRF has the confidence that they can beat the mighty Warriors (TRF is 4-0 in the past 4 meetings)

Have the Prowlers peaked too early? Now that they have experienced the larger more comfortable seats in 1st class, can they now go back to business class or coach and be motivated to show up against the teams they should beat.

Who are the real Prowlers? The team that was sleep walking through the Hallock game, the team that lost by a touchdown to the Hawks, the team that squeaked out a win against a then winless SLPark or is it the team that beat Warroad and nearly derailed the Spud Xpress.

I like when the team/s to beat in the section take nights off, maybe that's why 8A was a toss up and still is!

Kudos to TRF for tying the Duds. This took alot out of the team and they will not have enough emotion/jump to repeat this in Warroad tomorow. Warroad 3 TRF 2. However, I do see a repeat of the 2006 section finals and TRF will once again find themselves at State.

TRF scores 2 tops in this one and Warroad scores at least 2.... the Warriors get the W at home and possibly lose the #1 seed if both win out in Section 8 by goal differential against each other. It won't matter though as Scotty won't use the last change right unless he let's Tim take care of it. :P My bet is Jerome will be wearing one set of Orange Bands at EGF (I think Buzzy will take care of that). The way Hunt's played this season Section Final OT toss-up right now. I don't care what the TRF faithful says about their forwards and D they will be outshot and it will be the goalies play that determines the outcomes. The best I can do is.... [-o<

One game can drag a lot of confidence out of the closet as we are seeing today. Teams aren't as good as their best day and they aren't as bad as their worst. At the end of the season when you eliminate their highs and lows, the body of work remaining will tell me Warroad is the better team. Dickie... if the finale comes down to the keepers like you say, I'll side myself with the boys who are going to pile up the shots.

Advantage, still goes to Warroad.

This will definately be a battle of the goalies after Jake played big against Roseau. I think Marvin will sneak the lone goal by for a 1-0 win.

warroad really needs a statement game, maybe they'll realize that and take it to the thieves. If that is the case they'll win by 4.

Who do you think the players to watch in this game are?

I know TRF has changed there top lines up a little since the last meeting, which has kind of evened out the play, but how deep is warroad?

I watched the game in TRF earlier this season and seemed too me the Marvin line was on the ice alot. Oh and I don't think the Marvin line was too productive either, I think Bergy did some good line matching to silent these guys and expect the same tonight...

I think the key players in this game are going to be both goaltenders. Another key player in this game will penaltys, when these teams face off it is always high energy and emotion. It may come down to who can stay out of the box and who can capitalize on the power plays.

So this is much different than the first game they played.

Are people thinking differently about the Warroad/Moorhead game now?

First off =D> TRF =D> Way to put forth a great showing. Moorhead will dominate Warroad. Moorhead has too much speed and depth for Warroad to hang around.

Like I said, the advantage still goes to Warroad.

Where was the TR goaltending tonight?

TRF ties Moorhead and gets dominated by Warroad and yet Warroad has no chance against Moorhead?

Posted: Thu Jan 18, 2007 9:47 pm
by SB24
obviously there were two different TRF teams showing up on these two nights, but on the same token, i do not think the Warroad v Moorhead game will be as lopsided as some of you have predicted. Like i said before, warroad needed the statement game, this was it. This should work wonders on Warroads confidence going into the Sports Center.
