Bantam A Regions / Who Will be in and Who Will Win?

Bantam A

North Virginia -Districts 12, 15, 16
South Marshall -Districts 4, 1, 8
East St. Croix Valley - Districts 2, 10, 11
West Plymouth Ice Center -Districts 3, 5, 6

Remember only 2 teams from each region will be at the state tourney so there will be no 3 teams from 6 or 10.

My take....
North = Brainerd, and ???? Warroad, Bemidji, or Moorhead
South = Easy one here Rochester and Woodbury, sorry but what do 4 and 1 have to offer?
East = Tough But I got to go with Duluth and Centennial - Experience counts here.
West = EP is a lock but I see Wyzata and Jefferson battle for the second spot

Apparently you haven't seen them play too much. They are very skilled.

FUZZY,

East - Districts 2, 10, 11
West -Districts 3, 5, 6

East = I go with Tartan and WBL out of district 2(they only get 2 teams as the host district), sorry moundsview i Know you just beat them but I have to think that WBL will find a way come district tourney time. District 10 will be Centennial, Andover, and Blaine. I know ElK River is better now but all Blaine has to do is win a couple of games in their tourney and they are in. District 11 will be Duluth East and Hermantown and Cloquet.

West = The host district 3 will have Wyazata and Osseo, sorry maple grove right now i don't see the play getting you there. District 5 really I have no idea Crow River and Sartell and Mound???? District 6 EP is a lock, with Jefferson and Edina rounding out the group.

Just my take.

Woah so when did this new format come about?

regions

The geniuses at MN hockey came up with this ridiculous format, so that the strong districs could no longer get 3 teams to state, and the weak districs can get more teams in.

Now the strong districts will be lucky to get 2 teams in, and the best teams will not be represented at state.

Take this year for an example:

Only 2 teams from EP, Edina, Jefferson, Wayzata, can go.
Only 2 teams from Cent, Tartan, Duluth East, WBL, Andover, ER can go.

2 teams from dist's 12, 15, 16
2 teams from dist's 1, 4, 8

Looks like d8 will get 2 teams, and we may only get 2 teams from the north.

Go back to the old way.

i think that the new format is a joke having the three best districts in my opinion in the same region. I think it will be tartan and mounds view coming out of d2. white bear has the experience but i do not think they are good enough to make it that far in a hard district. Tartan i think is a for sure and mounds view will have a tough road but will come out on top and be in regions

Grand Rapids & Probably Moorehead or Roseau. GR has a tough stretch of games coming up with Bemidji, Virginia and Brainerd. They also play Moorehead soon. GR is an up and down team, but have been in every game so far. Consistent play has been their problem and they seem to play up or down to their competition. I would expect them to be on the right track come January. Their coaches won't let them relax until they start playing with a little urgency.

I couldn't agree with you more fanman gr is a great team and they will come out of the north and their coaches will get them there I could hear them yelling from scross the ice. they will wip then into shape gr has dominated warroad abd has benidji tonight virginia next weekend and I falls and moorhead first weekend of january this will decide the north but consistency is their problem

Grand Rapids, Moorhead or Roseau representing the North region at State????

Three good teams and possible that two of them could advance, but....

in D15 I believe Brainerd is better (or at least has beat) Moorhead;

in D16 Warroad and Bemidji have beaten Roseau and East Grand Forks may be the third best team in the District;

Bemidji has beaten Grand Rapids, Moorhead and Roseau.

So to pick three teams perhaps it should be Brainerd and perhaps Bemidji and Warroad OR Brainerd and Warroad and Grand Rapids

or

Brainerd, Moorhead and Bemidji...

...lots of options but no clear cut favorites from where I am sitting.
