Wait Until Lent

As we are now in Advent and approaching the Christmas season, it is time to start thinking about the Catholic teams and where they will be in Lent.
I know a lot of the Kwanzaa crowd is busy with secular humanism and keeping the 10 Commandments and Christmas trees out of sight this time of year.
I was shopping at the mall the other day and there was a
group of people on stage singing Christmas Carols. Good thing no one from the public schools was around.
Anyway, last year the Catholics took the suggestion of so many a fine phobic and had their own tournaments. One was called the Schwans Cup and the other we named the MSHSL State Tournament.
Both were played at the Xcell and, to be nice, we invited some public schools but they didnt win.
What about this year? Will the Kwanzaa crowd take its revenge?
Well, we can discuss that.
I like the Stars from the Academy of Holy Angels; The Raiders and defending champs from Cretin-Derham Hall; The new, as of last year, to Class AA, Knights from Benilde St Margaret; and the Pioneers from Hill- Murray to be in St Paul in Lent playing for a championship.
We will invite some public schools. Probably about 4.
I realize a lot of hysterical people are busy with trying to tighten the transfer rules and probably dont have time for religion. After all, its for the weak minded anyway.
But the Kwanzaa crowd better sharpen up the 'daddy's money' chants because the rich, recruited Catholics are gonna be half the field in AA.
Just Wait Until Lent.

I wish my swing was that smooth.
But its the big swing in power to the Catholics that we are highlighting here.
How did this happen. There can be only one reason. They must recruit and do something illegal.
Cant be because of any short comings in the pagan ,Godless public school system can it? No way. Hey, I know, lets tighten the transfer rules. That will fix everything.

That's probably one the funniest start to a public-private thread yet lol..
I suppose when the MSHL hammer comes down in Feb. things will be a bit different in the coming years........ or will all the privates (and ER) go the way of Shattuck??? leaving the MSHL....or will those private schools cut tuition in half to apply the difference to paid lobbiest to keep things the way they are.......??
I threw in ER for parity

Excellent suggestion on the lobbiests.
No problem on tuition, we are all rich and money is no object.
I am sure th MSHSL will come up wtith something that makes sense. They always do.

Lock it up

As a strong supporter of a private school and hockey team, I can honestly say this thread needs to be locked up. Why would you even start something like this. I try all year to stop people from promoting this type of topic. There is no place on this board for any talk like this. Come on now.....
Sorry I am getting really pissed about this.
I make my plea to you Easthockey, as my boys from RUSH say: Lock it up!

Zamman wants it locked, because it's the truth...........PEOPLE ONLY FEAR THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!
The biggest truth being:
"

PB,
Are you expecting new

phobics this year? Or are you looking for the usual suspects.

Good for you Zamman.
But its OK to talk about these things here. Its in the paper this mornig.
Read John Milea's column in the Red Star.
Read the emails he quoted and then ask again why these types of threads are started.
Maybe you should call someone to lock the Strib up to.
All we are talkin about is who is gonna make it to state but in a different kind of way. Did you want to discuss back up goalies?

You never know what phobics will be recruited Neut.
Puckhandler's post is an excellent example.
But I have got a great idea for the public schools who cant seem to keep up with all of this recruiting.
Offer free tuition.

The Catholics have the best backup goalies, too.

Actually most rituals/traditions within the Catholic Church have their origins in either Jewish or Pagen practices.
And we do not hate you because you are Catholic, we just hate you. Not really, its the Catholic part.
In reality I have always enjoyed watching the Catholic school teams play (not sure they are all Catholic kids on those teams as some are just too good).
St. Paul Cretin made a trip to Fort Frances Arena for many years.
And Hill-Murray teams have always been impressive. And with friends playing with AHA they had to be a team to cheer for.
But this year (in AA) I have to go with Section 8 first.
Roseau
Moorhead
And then 7
Grand Rapids
Cloquet
East
Brainerd.
But to be fair, we will let a couple of privates join the real world come LENT.
Single A, well that has to be the Broncos.

Right you are Elliott,on all counts.
But whats with the waffling?
Is it gonna be Roseau or da Spuds?
East, Cloquet or the old Indians?
Say, wait a minute,do any of those teams have recruits on them?

If I were betting anything significant I would et Moorhead in 8 and Cloquet in 7.
But the list is based on for whom I am cheering.
Go Rams!
Go Indians er.. Thunderhawks!
Hill-Murray and Edina would be my metro teams at AA.

And I suppose I should put South Saint Paul on the list.

Sadly no.
But we have our memories.
This weekend:
CDH vs Park Sat @3:00 at beautiful Highland arena where all the rich Catholics hang out
BSM travels to Chisago Lakes tonight
HM takes on Tartan @3:00 on Sat at Aldrich
AHA has the weekend off
The Catholics are out there battling the pagan infidels. Get out and support them. We need the money for recruiting.
I gotta go and get some Kwanzaa shopping done.

I am just tired of all this we vs them attitude.
Jon Milea from the STRIB is a private school phobic. He has some personal agenda against the schools. He starts most of the bashing but supporters need to stay away from his level and just play.
Support your team, do not comment on others you know nothing about. Let these kids play where they go to school....That is all I am trying to say.
What did you expect?

What the bigots in the League Offices want is to tell Catholics where they can or cannot send their kids to school.
If one of the half-dozen or so Twin Cities' Catholic Schools does not have its building located in your actual small iron wall district, you will have to go to public school or move.
Since the Catholic Schools do not get forced attendance like the Public School gulags, enrollments would freefall and Freedom Loving American Schools shut down (which is really what these bigots want, isn't it).

Let them give the privates a district!
The district is the Archiodecese of MPLS and St. Paul

Read the new proposal from the bigots in the League Office, Zamman, then tell us it is only one guy trying to cause trouble.
AP is disappointed in Zamman's knee-jerk reaction to "lock-up" free speech, retreating in the face of bigots and terrorists.

Its a whole lot easier than looking in the mirror and realizing that mush brained ultra liberalsim in the public school system isnt what people want......anymore.
We cram Kwanzaa down peoples throat and when they leave for Catholic schools , we will cry about recruiting and if that doesnt work, we will fix everything with a new transfer rule. Then we can keep kids and continue on with our approach.
Pray. Pray hard.

My granddaughter comes home form school and starts asking me/explaining to me about their studies during the week of Kwanza and other religions besides Christianity.
But if I let her bring one of our nativity scenes to school for show and tell, she would be suspended and I would be in the superintendents office answering questons.
It does not mke sense to me.
Let's all cheer for the private schools where at least we are not censored as if we were slaves to the Roman god Cesaer.
Sorry, but somethings REALLY bother me.

On another note, what was the topic of this particular blog????

by packerboy
The topic is high school hockey Elliott and what is going on right now that could efffect it.
Its the same as every thread on the board.
Just a little different slant.
Are the issues preseneted here a little more edgey than "who is the best backup goalie" ?
Maybe. But it depends on your perspective.
