i'm thinking it's going to boil down a lot to goaltending and whether or not grg can put the puck in the net. all are formidable teams and it should be a good weekend of hockey. i am hoping to be in attendance

Disloacted knee cap. This is going to the weekend the Lightning break out. Pat Rendle has the girls ready. And Marina will be at 100%.

i dont know.. i haven't seen much out of the lightning that has impressed me. i think it'll be a good contest between duluth and cloquet to win the section this year.

snapshot24...who are you? the lightning are a good hockey team and if memory serves me... they beat duluth's coop earlier this season and intend to again. they're having a rough go... but every team has it's slumps unless you expect perfection?

well i'm probably not readily going to reveal my idenity as this is a privledge on minnhock to remain annoymous, but i am not impressed in the least my the lightning and will remain unimpressed until they start beating some decent teams... such as bemidji, cloquet, chisago, and edina

I agree. They need to win some big games. Maybe a Hibbing game?

i think that with the absense of krause and hagen the lightning have no excuse not to beat hibbing

Predictions

Here for your consumption is a prediction of the remainder of the season for the lightning and why. The lightning will right the boat and they will do it at the appropriate time. Much llike the THunderHawks did once they got their real goaltender back. This team will struggle but will sweep this weekends games ' in easy fashion, They will be led by their sr goaltender and she will as she always does give them a chance to win. 2 or 3 goals on a team like this shouldnot be too much to ask for, This team will be lead this weekend in scoring by Emily Erickson not because she has to but because she can. The reality of Emily Erickson is simply she is the best there is in the state and chances are that when that girls says enough is enough someone is going to pay. The question on this team is where is everyone else ? Are they so busy worrying about what somebody else isnt doing that they have themselves forgot about what they should be doing? Too many excuses, Too many reasons for a team with that much talent to falter Time to suck it up ladies and smell the coffee now just go do it would you? The prediction GRG 5 - Cloquet 2 Section Final GRG to state anyone who who thinks I am wrong too bad I know what this team can do !

AMEN! I hope something is done about this soon...this team does have a ton of talent and its getting really boring watching it being wasted away! Come on girls, get with the program, start acting like a team and start playing that way!

Media you make legitimate points on GRG's future ability to score, but your always pushing the sr. goalie. After talking to some Silverbay people
they say she played the JV game and let in many goals and they could have scored four more as she was very unsteady! They won! As a positive person I hope she works through her difficulties and can aid her team! I don't care from Cloquet's perspective because we seen her last time, and won!

Does anyone know exactly how many schools make up
GRG? Like if there were players from Deer River or Remer or Hill City or Northome, could they play for GRG?
here ya go

Currently Greenway and Grand Rapids make up the team, the towns you mention would be by rule their first area of obligation to play as none of those schools have hockey and are located closest to Grand Rapids. However they could open enroll any where they chose.

Unless a girl was absent when GRG played Bemidji, GRG does not have the best girl in the state on their team.

If GRG can start scoring they will have a chance at amking it to state, but seriously it will take an extraordianry effort for them to get by Cloquet (barring injuries etc).

They don't. They need to play as a complete team to succeed.

Well I guess that would be your opinion which I clearly support you to have however believing that I know who you may select I can only say you may have room for argument but if your blood was not so Bemidji blue you would admit that the possibility exists for me to be correct as well . However I defend your right to your opinion even it is is different than mine. Now regarding your team It may very well have the most productive line in the state with Erickson, Josefson, and Christofferson.

Erickson isn't even the best hockey player on her team, and there is no question Sadie Lundquist is the best played in section 7AA.

Just Grand Rapids and Greenway make up GRG i think. I heard that when their sr. golie let in a bunch of goals in that jv game silver bay played their varsity 1st line in the third period and thatswhen they got all of there goals. Pretty poor way to win if you ask me.
lol

Sure, Emily is GREAT in the offensive end. She only plays on way, and she does it on pure athletic ability. You can watch any of us who see her play every home game, some away games, and plenty of practices. Many girls in the area are more COMPLETE than she is. Now am I saying she is bad? Heck no. She is good, but she is far from the best in the area, yes, I said it. And I DO know what I am talking about. Ask Pat Rendle.
