that's horrible news! I had heard he had an illness unrelated to hockey and was going to miss tuesdays game with Montreal, but I had no idea it was this big. My prayers go out to him and his family.

I have known several young men (probably a dozen) that have gone through testicular cancer.

They have all done fine.

It is a tough process physically and emotionally, but if it is early on, there should be limited problems for him.

I am praying for him.

And hey, who stronger to fight through cancer than a hockey player?

A phenomenal one at that.

Agreed no one better than a hockey guy to battle it. Also testicular when found early is one of the most commonly treated cancers you can have.
Good luck Phil.

This is terrible news. I wouldn't wish the C word on anybody, even a gopher. Best of luck to Phil and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My friend's son had the same kind of cancer five years ago. He had surgery and 15 radiation treatments and is doing great. With this kind of treatment, it is expected to be a 95- 98 per cent cure. It's a very good reminder for all young men to check for this kind of cancer. It happens to young men very often. When caught early, it has a happy ending. Let's all say some prayers for Phil.

There was just a thing on sportscenter about him. He had surgery today and is recovering. His agent said everything went well and is on the road to recovery.
