What are the top lines in the state? Who do they play for, and what makes them successful?

Erickson, Josefson, and Christofferson (??) in Bemidji. That line has got some skill. Josefson's already over 10 goals I believe, Erickson's got 6-7, and Christofferson has a couple herself. Scary thing is two of them will be back next year. These three can put up some points.

Crookstons first line, Marlee Wheelhouse (13 goals), Danielle Persson (9), and Janessa Deboer (4). Like Bemidji Crookston will have two returning girls who work very well together.

I have seen Wheelhouse play for different venues & she is the real deal and will play after HS. Who are Persson & Deboer? Are they really that talented or do they feed off Wheelhouse?

Like I thought, the Marlee Wheelhouse Show. Bemidhji 2, Wheels 2 in OT. Who is this Deboer girl? C-town should give her more press. Any comments from anyone on this game? Shots seemed low.

Marlee Wheelhouse show eh? Gotta give more props to the rest of the team also, like the defence, for doing a great job and keeping shots low. Final shots were 21 (C-town) 17 (Bemidji). Many girls had chances to score, some true talent showed through tonight that we dont usually see from all the girls, Marlee was just the only one to put it in. By the way, TEAMS win games... Marlee cant do everything.

Cloquet has a very good top line. As does FLake.

Hey WI23 you are right on! There is no I in team. It takes a special mix of players/coaches to make up a good balanced team. Bemidji & Crookston have both proved that they have this magical balance. To me a good team starts in the nets, followed by good defense then forwards. Crookston does have two of the top D in the section in Wheelhouse & Whangen. Good luck to you and your Pirates as well as the Bemidji squad.

Wi23, Still waiting for your reply on Persson & Deboer. Are they really that talented or do they just feed off Wheelhouse? Also, I was at the Bemidji game and noticed #23 for Crookston had alot of potential. She is almost like a wild stallion and goes to beat the band. If this girl would work on her stickhandling/shooting skills she would be unstoppable.

 she might have to take that into consideration. from what i know shes working on it. As for Persson and DeBoer, i could't tell you, but you must have seen for yourself.

Glad to hear #23 is working on it. Terry Cullen who use to coach the Spuds put out an excellent video which included dryland stickhandling/shooting and it is excellent. All players have areas which they need to work on, only the ones that put forth the extra time and effort on their own will succeed in sports and in life. As far as Deboer & Perssons I haven't seen enough of them to make any conclusions.

Agree 100% - not only are they very talented individually, but from what I've seen they're also very unselfish with the puck and really work well together as a unit.

the Erickson, Psimos, Harwood line from mayo is very strong..all great passers and very quick

the Heimsness, Faber, Jenkins line from austin is solid..all are all-around players and move the puck well

the Foley, Kastner, Miller line from faribault is good..they are quick and physical and find ways to put the puck in the net

Feste, Ludwigson & Stoa... Same line that played together as 7th's & 8th now as Jr's & Sr... They're great! (And yes I'm biased)

The line of Feste Stoa, Ludwigson are not correct. Feste and Stoa are playing with Green. Could you imagine the heat Morris would get if he did that? It is to bad that his first 2 lines are all transfers. To bad for the homegrown girls.. If I were an EP parent, would be livid.

One good thing that the transfer situation at EP does is create somewhat of a David v Goliath atmosphere when EP plays. It doesn't really matter who the opponent is; most people outside of EP will be rooting for their opponent. And probably some people in EP would not shed too many tears if EP loses. Games are always more fun to watch when the fans have a team to root for or against. Sort of like the great teams from Edina in the 60's and 70's. It seemed like most people outside of Edina rooted against them in the State tournament; they had such dominant teams back then.

Good comparison, with the main difference between the two is that Edina's dominance lasted many more years, mainly because they didn't have to depend on new transfers constantly coming into the program.

After this past week at the Schwan Tourney there should be little doubt that Bemiji's Josefson(St Cloud State ) Erickson and Christopherson are among the top lines in the state St Cloud is getting one of the hardest working forwards girls hockey has seen in a long time in Josefson

They are playing together and they are - IMHO - the best line in the state (but I'm biased).

By the way - Feste is the Kaposia MVP. GWG all 3 nights??? Maybe I'm wrong on this. If the U is smart they'd lock her in for 2008 now!!!

Thanks for the correction. I saw Green with playing with them in an earlier game in EP. Maybe BK won the Kaposia according to the game stats.
Ha Ha

Feste is fabulous and deserves the MVP at Kaposia.
