Hopkins belongs in there somewhere I believe. They may have last year as well too...

Any Mark Stephan coached team has that possibility. They are deep, strong, and well coached. I know this is just a pre-season ranking however...
I think Roseville should be higher up on the list from where they are at - but I haven't seen many of these teams yet this year either...
It's so early, I guess right now I'm more about adding teams that should be considered for top 20 vs removing teams from consideration - and I'm nowhere near making any determinations about placement at this point...
I'd be curious though to hear what others think if they've seen many or some of these teams already. I haven't seen enough to make any logical order of them yet. That's the beauty of a pre-season ranking though I guess!

I predict Coon Rapids will fall fast from their pre-season No. 2 rating, based on what I saw in their scrimmage on Friday against BSM.
I also agree that Hopkins should be in the mix there somewhere, and will be soon.

Can't agree that Hopkins belongs in the top 20. Saw their scrimmage last week against AHA. One in which they were dominated from start to finish. Their program has a long way to go to break into the top 20 in my opinion.

That may have happened in a scrimmage, but they beat a very solid Eagan team which is ranked in the top 20. I don't know much about hopkins,(are they in 6AA). If so too bad for another quality team that has to compete with Eden Prairie.
Rise the most or drop the most?

Which team will rise/fall the most in tomorrow's rankings?
I'm thinking Roseville is underrated...maybe top 3 overall, Wayzata must be as good as Stillwater and White Bear Lake had a good win last night.

I've seen Blaine, GRG Lightning, Bemidji, WBL, Roseville, Stillwater, MV, CDH. and I like them in this order.
#1 Roseville who has one of the top lines in the state and others who never stop playing hard (Watch 9th grader Brausen not flashy but I would take her over many very hockey smart. #2 GRG top line is very good and I like one of their goalies a little better than the other. #3 Stillwater deep. #4 CDH good D inconsistant goaltentding #4 Bemidji (Fast ) - #4 WBL (Scrappy, very good goaltending and good D offense will get better as season goes ) - -#4 Blaine, Zrust and great goalie in Nixon and will win them games also very good freshman D Danielle S???. Only time and how they develope will tell of last 4.
Ratings are only of what I've seen.

Let's see...I have seen Hibbing, White Bear, Bemidji, Woodbury, and GRG...
Of those teams...and I understand Hibbing is A
1. Lightning-Great top first line...VERY experienced, 4 above average d, one goalie i like a little more than the other as well...2. Bemidji...good team speed, the one great offensive threat and osborne in net...good supporting cast...3. White Bear...just a solid team, look for them to have a pretty decent season. 4. Hibbing, have fallen off from past years...one of their top players is injured, they will still be tough. 5.Woodbury...Good goalies at least...

I also like Hibbing and feel if were AA they would be a top 20 team. Big fast and I like #24 this past weekend very much.

No. 4 Holy Angels plays No. 5 BSM at St. Louis Park Community Center at 6:00 pm on Friday night.
In the earlier game, No. 2 Class A Blake plays No. 17 Class AA Blaine at 4:00 pm.
Four very good teams and good matchups - should be interesting....

Could it eventually that 3 or 4 of the top 5 rated AA teams would all be from the same section? EP, Edina, Benilde, Wayzata? They are all looking very good so far!

I predict this week's rankings may be
1 EP
2 AHA
3 Edina
4 Roseville
5 Cretin
6 Cloquet
7 Stillwater
8 Wayzata
9 Benilde
10 GRG

14 Coon Rapids
15 Centennial
16 Hopkins
17 White Bear Lake

AHA may move up this week but it may be their peak as their schedule after this becomes a bit weaker?
Eagan deserves some notice
Not sure, Wayazat maybe should be lower

# 7 stillwater is 0-3-1? There are alot of teams that could be ranked if these are the standards. Not to say there not good, but I thought rankings are for the teams that are having a good year, this year.

I agree, SW is likely a top 10 team but they need to show they are by actually winning some games.
I think CDH should be moved up to #3 as well.

Stillwater does not deserve to be in the top 10 right now. They have to prove they deserve a top 10 ranking and I agree they have yet to do that. Saw my first Pony game vs. Hill saturday night. Stillwater was the better team by a noticeable margin in my opinion but they're having trouble finding the net / finishing. Created enough good scoring chances to win easily, including at least three pipes by my count but...
They have to start winning games to justify and or improve their ranking.

Too few games for this to have meaning. Seeing Eden Prairie at #8 is evidence of that.
I never trust the computers. I prefer game results.
