DOES ANYONE THINK IT WILL BE CLOSE, TARTAN WILL BE AMPED UP JUST AS I AM SURE FURNE AND HILL WILL BE FOR THIS GAME, DOES TARTAN HAVE A CHANCE, EVEN WITH THERE TOP 4 D RETURNING IN GLASS, ANDERSON, LARSON, AND STOCKTON, AND WITH WOOD STAYING?

Talk about being the 12th most interesting game Hill plays in this year. Tartan has a chance based on the fact Hill doesn't see them as a huge rival. Tartan should be happy down in section 2, that's the ony place they'll ever get to state from. They would be lucky to be the 5th seed in section 3 this year...

I don't see a chance...but you never know.

Sparlimb, u dont think hill views tartan as a huge rivalry? i hope you are joking, I know a ton of hill murray parents and they even say that the biggest game they play is against tartan, and now with furne going to hill, the rivalry gets that much better, and i believe tartan will win 4-3with furne not getting any points.

Tartan is just another game on the schedule for HM. I look for Tartan to finish near the middle of the conference and really won't challenge HM/STA during the season. Tartan has no real fire power with Furne gone & depth is also an issue. Just an average team. They have never been considered a rival of Hill and really don't see anything changing this year. Tartan should focus of maintaining their rivalry with NSP as they will have similiar teams this year.

PPG-I think you make some very strong point, but this is more than just your average, ho-hum kind of game to HM

i am agreeing with boblee and i believe tartan has no chance, just not enough talent and HM is going to yet again be amazingly good, could get a lil choppy though with fern on HM's team

Goalieboy, I doubt the Hill players could even tell you were Tartan is located...
...even Hill's bus driver would have to stop for directions.

i can guarantee you ask anyone at hill and they will tell you that tartan is a rivalry, my neighbor goes to hill and for every sport, whenever hill plays tartan, there is a big crowd and both teams are amped up, and as far as depth, they have plenty of depth, and even tho furne left, they have kyle merth coming back who could be better than furne if he learns how to use his body.
AP is Merthful (sic) that Goalieboy is so amped about Tartan

How soon before Merth transfers to Hill?

somehow we got the elks in this thread but yeaa 'dude, go elks', anyways Tartan does not have depth, Furne was their only depth they had, they are an alright team but will not stand a chance against Hill, I can't name one player on Tartan and I have no clue who kyle merth is, the Hill/Tartan game may get physical but will not be close in score

the thread question was weather or not it will be close or not, not whether or not they are rivals. Sure, fine, they may be rivals. Still no chance.

They are in the same Conference... an I thought those private kids were spose to be "smart"..... and considering Hill is only a few streets away.. I bet its just you don't know where either school is and should refrain from stupid statements...

Is the sarcasm really that difficult to read on the internet? And I wouldn't be talking about people making stupid statements when you can't put together a coherent sentence. Thirdly, about a 2/10 on the attempt to take a shot at private school kids. The "private school kids are smarter" line is way overdone. And finally, back to the topic. No, Tartan has no chance to beat HM either time they play.

Just read his post again stickler, I bet he's about 12. At that age, he has only a vague idea of the concept of sarcasm.

Thats what the emoticons are for, the guys that can't get it.

Oh boy, this is the time where you either A. Read your posts to make sure they don't sound like a 10 year old wrote them, or B. Stop posting. I would recommend B.

Personally i think Tartan has A VERY good chance at beating Hill this year especially if Wood plays good, and since Phillipe wont have any defense this year, and he will struglle, all Tartan has to do is shoot and crash the net, phillipe is a below average goalie.

I think it's humorous to see Tartan people try to attach themselves to Hill Murray in order to get involved in hockey talk. Hill was conference & section champs last year while Tartan was an average team. Tartan's best player transfers to Hill. Not real sure where Tartan feels like they have closed the gap this year & will beat Hill. But I can already hear it...Hill will go thru the motions against Tartan (because it's just another game on the schedule) and beat Tartan by 3 goals. Tartan people will then say, "well if Furne had stayed at Tartan we would have beaten Hill."
