If I am not mistaking, some of the district's up North play 17 min. period's in bantam's, which makes sense with the long travel times; longer game times. D4 is similar with some very long travel's, yet will only play 36 min. league games. Some of the suspicion thrown on So. Mn hockey could very well be true starting with the administrator's.

that wouyld be really dumb because the d4 teams would play like 2 periods of an up north game.

Yes i have to agree with you there, most of the D4 refs are terrible. Some of them ref and they can barely skate. Still they know their rules but D4 needs to get better refs.

i think for bantam A they should play 17 min periods like HS. 12 is way too short. the games will only be 2-1 and 3-2 and they wont be as exciting.

I agree gopher, the secon year bantams won't have any conditiong and they won't be redy for such long games at the high school level. Bantams should have a minimum period time of 15 min. nothing less because it is too short and like you said the games won't be as exciting as they were last year.

i agree that MOST D4 refs are bad but id have to say that New Prague (not saying this just because im from new prague) refs are the best in D4 they are pretty effeicient and good refs i think that the worst are probably owatonna i know ive been screwed over by them a couple times.
but well have to see how the refs are after they call it so tight now it will be about 10 or more penalties a game(my brother refed select 15s and they were calling about 20 penalties a game).

another thing like that one guy said the games will be less scoring i think because of the shorter periods but i guess there could also be more due to the increase in calling of penalties
