Who would you guys consider the favorite in this district? AL loses a lot, but still returns a couple good forwards and a goalie which looks to be much improved this year. Coaching will also be a strength on this squad.

mankato will be decent. a lot of good forwards with two kids who could easily play varsity at mankato west, but decided to stay. the goalies will be decent. defense is where they might struggle a little. two sophmores are moving up to high school since of there age (not many 10th graders playing bantams) and another who will be a freshman who could play bantams again but is choosing to move up. besides those kids moving up it looks to be an almost an identacil team from 2 years ago when they went to state.

Based on what these teams did as Peewee's, I would say Faribault, Mankato, and New Prague would be the favorites in Bantam A.
Regular Season (East Divison)
1. New Prague
2. Faribault
3. Mankato
*New Ulm won the weaker West Division
Districts
1. Faribault
2. Mankato
3. New Ulm
4. Owatonna (knocked off New Prague to advance to Regions)
Regions
1. Mankato (went to State)
2. Faribault

Mankato will struggle. Contrary to a post by Soup21, 10-12 Bantam eligible kids will be moving up to HS. Personally, I believe this is a huge mistake for a majority of these kids. 1- 2 of these kids may see some varsity time.

From what you guys are saying Mankato will struggle. I think NP will be the team to beat in this district. They messed up big time in districts losing to Owatonna to go to regions. I also think Faribault will be good. Tight race between NP Kato and Far. Should be fun to watch as the season plays out. NP has first scrimmage Vs. EP saturday. we'll see if they are for real.

Yea NP had a great year that year but they couldn't seem to get anything going in districts. they had everyones number in the season but couldn't get it done in districts.

My sleeper this year is Owatonna. They won't win the East Division, but they'll be a dangerous team come Districts.

I was looking on the Mankato Association website, and it looks like they are going to be playing in the West divison...This confuses me..does anyone else have any more information on this?
