Top 5 look right, move SSP up to #6 and slide everyone down one.

I think you have it right on koho, with the possible change being Red Wing/Simley at 3/4.

Who does everything think can pull an upset? I think Simley will be vulnerable against either Minnehaha or SSP in the quarterfinals. After that St. Thomas should roll......

that would truly be a sad day in ssp history, if they fell to the 9th spot in class A hockey. i hope it goes up from here!

It wont happen, with their win over Richfield on saturday the lowest they will be seeded is 6th, and if they beat Simley (I believe next saturday?) then they could be as high as 4th. Not a lot of depth in this section this year. No one should come within 3 goals of St. Thomas.

I read earlier where the seeds are picked by mid-week, meaning any games after this tues. (2/8/05) won't affect the seedings. Unless that varies by section. Why is Lourdes going
to be seeded so high? They are a good program, very well coached and play very tough defensively. But have had trouble scoring lately and were 1-4 vs.1A teams, which is generally considered a pretty weak section.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ubba004 at: 2/6/05 10:06 pm

How does simley look this year? Will their game vs. SCC be worth the trip?

What's up with SSP why are they down so low this year, any chance of them getting upset in the first round?

SSP

The big reason that they were so good last year was Alex Stalock between the pipes and he opted to skip his senior year to play in Cedar Rapids of the USHL this year and they don't have a replacement for him. It will be another year or 2 before the program bounces back from this bad season. They might be able to pull an upset because STA is the only ranked team, and SSP does have one very good line.

Really?

Are Red Wing, Simley, Northfield and Minnehaha really better teams than SSP? St. Thomas and Lourdes are both very good teams, and could do some damage at State. Is SSP really a 7th seed in this section though? I'm not seeing it. I would think 3 or 4 with these other teams, but maybe I'm way off. Somebody let me know!

I don't know alot about SSP....kindof tough to see them in a 7th seed playing in a "play in" game.....Hope they don't get upset.

5 would have been a more realistic spot for them than 7, the top 4 teams are in good order, but its understandable, with no head to head games or common opponents, I guess you kind of have to give Minnehaha and Northfield a higher seed than SSP. I don't know anything about Lourdes but going from the past, they should be able to handle SSP.

responding to the comment about remaining games not affecting the seedings and lourdes going 1-4 vs section 1a:
since most of the 3A teams arent in the same conference or even a conference at all-- the seedings have to be based mosely on head to head games. in lourdes case, they lost to STA, and beat northfield, simley, red wing, spa, and minnehaha therefore making it pretty clear that they deserve the #2

All the semi's should be pretty good but I think the game to watch will be the STA vs Rochester championship? does anyone disagree or think that these two teams could possibly be knocked off before the section finals?
