I miss that place hard core. I'm getting over it, but any true Minnesotan should love a hockey arena for what it is rather than how nice it is. Lots of good hockey memories there...a few WCHA Final Fives...Frozen Four back in the early 90's...my first state tourneys...

I'll be suicidal when tUMD actually moves out of the DECC

A lot of memories but it was a dump and the seating was terrible for hockey, which is why they had the glass boards. Everybody was way too far from the rink.

The Xcel....wouldnt change a thing.

But for their time, the clear boards added an aura. It was a fun environment, that is now better. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Right on packerboy. Wasnt the best for a hockey game, but it was rich in Mn HS hockey history. I wont forget it.

I miss the Civic Center and the clear boards. Seen a few tourneys there. Even though I miss it, the Xcel is a great place to watch hockey. What did everyone think of the tourney being at the Target Center those two years? I hate Minneapolis and the hockey expo was not connected to the arena like it was and is now. But for actaully watching the games it wasnt too bad.

The Civic Center, Home of the Minnesota Moose,Those Moose games were pretty fun actually,if ya sat in the red seats they had like waiters so you didnt have to get up. Went to quite a few of those games....Target Center was ok for hockey, but were'nt they replaceing glass every 10 minutes

Roy Williams is way too small I think, it only holds around 10,000 right? Would be a fun atmosphere though.
Go Buffs

I was too young to have any detailed memories there.
But the Xcel is great, not a bad seat in the whole building.
