I would love to see Ballard win it next year. Do you think he will actually stay with the gophers? Hopefully, what a great defensemen. <p></p><i></i>

Personally, I believe he will return. <br><br>Phoenix, from what I've heard, is a team in financial trouble (like pretty much all the NHL teams). I don't see them dishing out a big contract for a blue-chip defenseman until after the new CBA.<br><br>Not that they couldn't use the help. They are a horrible team right now, but I think they are on the rise. Lots of young players, and adding Ballard to the mix only increases their potential.<br><br>Ballard has stated publically numerous times that he has not tried to contact the Coyotes, nor have they contacted him. He also stated that he's waiting on them to make the first move, and he will NOT be the one to try and get the ball rolling.<br><br>Adding all that up, and I think he'll be back.<br><br>Knock on wood. <p></p><i></i>

Slappy, I'm not sure if you're a Gopher fan or not, but what are your inclinations as far as Ballard is concerned? Do you think he'll be back?<br><br>Regardless, I'm really looking forward to next year. The incoming class is very impressive, but they sure lost alot of talent and leadership this year.
