I here that Hutchinson is looking for new coaches for there girls team. But what they really need is the coaches for the boys team. The word is that this coach is going to hang around until his son is old enough to play for him. The other kids will never get to skate.

Hey smoke just wondering where you get your rumor info. from or are your just blowing smoke like your name implies. I know the coach and can tell you straight up that having his kid play for him has never been a goal of his. Besides he has all ready fullfilled that goal as he helped coach the Peewee B team in hutch which his kid played on. He also coached his kid in mites and squirts. Also wondering how his kid playing means no other kids get to skate. What kind of smoke are you blowing????

The Sibley job is a no win situation. You would have to be nuts to take it.

Woodbury, on the other hand, has some promise. That would be a reasonable challenge to put that program together.

Blackhawk27 the point is that he is not in it for his kid. Hutch coach knows that his kid is only an average player at this point. Unlike many of the hutch parents who think all their kids are D1 players. Just ask them.

Aren't They all D1?

GR80,
Isn't that the norm in today's youth hockey? The attitude seems to be very prevelant. It has made for some ugly hockey too. Everyone's a "johnny goal scorer" not many want to play the role it takes to succeed and win. Few teams yes but not many.

GR80 Yes they are all D1

I THINK MOST PARENTS THINK THERE KID WILL BE THE NEXT
D1 PLAYER TO COME OUT OF HIS PROGRAM, ISN'T THAT
WHAT KEEPS YOUTH HOCKEY ALIVE? I HOPE HUTCH'S
ENTIRE PEEWEE B TEAM IS FULL OF THEM. THE VARSITY
PROGRAM CAN REALLY USE THEM IN A FEW YEARS. THEY
HAVEN'T BEEN 500 IN YEARS.

Sibley and Woodbury

I know the Sibley coach finally resigned and whoever the new coach is, all I can say is, hey at least you can only improve. I mean whats the worse that could happen, you only win 2 or 3 games your first year? Oh wait, that would be an improvement<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Also, what happend to the Woodbury coach? Did he get fired or quit or what?
That program could be pretty good if they can start getting their kids to stay there.

He decided to leave in order to pursue a hockey training franchise that he bought into. I believe he's affiliated with Acceleration Minnesota. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Hopefully they will replace Hendrickson in Virginia. How much longer is the School Board going to put up with his stunts and arrogance? His replacement is well overdue!!

From what I heard there have been like 15 applications in for the Sibley job. I think it is a great position for someone who wants to put the time in and develop the program. Whoever the new coach is he needs to keep kids around and not let them leave to STA, Cretin or HM.

Add North Branch to the list of openings. Rather surprising that there have been no "name" programs out looking for coaches, with all the rumors that were flying. May be a slow year.

Yeah the Sibley job presents a great opportunity to rebuild a program. There is talent in the system, and if a new coach can just get it down to a few less kids going to the privates they could be strong.

They have always had, and always will have kids going to STA. That's never going to change, since the school is in Sibley's back yard, but a good coach could limit the numbers that go to Cretin, and Hill. There will always be some, but the key is keeping the best talent going to Sibley.
Puckster

www.wildpuck.com

I couldn't agree with you more. I think the Sibley job is better than the Woodbury. There are some major problems out in Woodbury. If they can't win with all the kids they get every year there has to be problems. How they are not on the same page as Eden Praire, Stillwater and Wayzata is mind boggling to me. Sibley has a lot of promise if the coach wants to put in the time like past coaches Saratore and Guyer.

Sibley

Why do you think the Sibley job has promise? WSP is a very successful youth hockey program but the number of kids who are destined to go to CDH, STA, HM or other private schools is just too great.

People who are CDH and STA alums aren't all of a sudden going to send their kids to Sibley, even if the program is upgraded. Sure, if a kid is on the fence it will help but I think there are way too many kids "earmarked" for the private and Catholic schools to be successful.

What am I missing?

As far as Woodbury goes, I agree. With their numbers and youth teams, whats the deal at high school? But I think a big name coach would be more effeftive there than Sibley for the reason I mentioned.

I think there are a lot of kids who are on the fence as far as going to the private schools. If Sibley can get a couple of those kids to stay around there is enough talent to have a good program. I just think if you have a coach who puts in the time and effort you can get kids to stay.
