newcomers in hibbing!!!

rumors are out that Hibbing's back-up goalie brennan podderzay is going to play in Hibbing again next year. Great goalie and will work good with the team. Also rumor has it that the Babich's are coming over from Eveleth to play in Hibbing next year also. Could Hibbing make another trip to state and 3-peat 7a? Shea returns, Lundquist returns, both 1st liners. Steady goalie? whats going to happen and are rumors true???<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

The rumors about the Babichs going to Hibbing have already been talked about. They wouldn't go to Hibbing they are going to stay in Eveleth I am sure. I am sure that Poderzay will stay in Hibbing, why would he go back to Ely after going to Hibbing and getting 3rd in state. It would be stupid for him to go back to Ely.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

I didnt think they would be going to Hibbing but you never know. Hibbing has had many kids go there for their senior years and provide a crucial position for them.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

You are right!!! Why would he go back to Ely!?! Especially when none of the team wants him to come back!!

I hope, and think that i know taht all teh players from eveleth have teh integrity to not jump ship their senior years. Poderzay..ok ..it was understandable..i guess im not on either side...was he going to have a team or not?? nobody knew...and the kid doesnt even play..so ill leave it at that. But Eveleth has and will always have a team...and at the least it will always be reputable. i guess its possible..but i just dont see it happening, and i am hard pressed to think of the last (if ever) person that left eveleth to play for another town. Too much heritage, history, and pride.

Hibbing

What seniors have ever came to Hibbing to play their senior years? Nobody in the years I was playing or before that. The closest to transfers is Suiko back in 1997, but he was a sophomore. The only "transfers" I know of coming to Hibbing are Pete Capouch (moved to Hibbing when he was a Pee Wee), Suiko('97), Travis Weber (same as Capouch), and Poderzay. Hibbing, and basically everywhere else on the Range, grows their players from childhood...the way it should be.
Does anyone know if Poderzay is going to be playing football next fall(if he stays in Hibbing) by any chance? He could be their playermaker.

you people forgot about the two most important transfers of all, the decenzo brothers. check out their history. born in eveleth, moved to grand rapids because of differences between coach mckenzie and the old man. hibbing is the luckiest program in the state to land these two guys as coaches. they both played the game at it's highest levels, can relate to the kids, and both demand a level of respect which eliminates parental interference. kudos to them for not playing poderzay in front of trenberth(except for the 2-1 rapids game, just wanted to make sure they beat us). they are both class acts and great coaches. they just took 3rd place in a gret tournament with just two players.

Let me just say that Hibbing is going to have a fairly good team coming back next year. With their recent run at the state this year, returning stars Walters, Lundquist, Modich, Poderzay and many others including a great Junior Varsity team draw will all be back to send Hibbing to their 3rd consecutive state appearance. For the record, Hibbing does NOT have a history of bringing in players from other schools. Hibbing draws from its own feeder programs period!! With this being reality, it wouldn't be any surprise if selected local players initiated their interest in wanting to play for Hibbing next year as they will be a rejuvenated team comprised of confidence, experience and skills. CONGRATULATIONS BLUEJACKETS!!!!!!

Travis weber did not transfer to hibbing. He had been with hibbing since at least pee-wees. My brother used to be good friends with him. He did however leave hibbing as a junior or senior and went to play juniors in Michigan I think it was. He came back the spring of his senior year to walk across the stage in HHS's historic auditorium and recieve his diploma.

Is there going to be a team in Chisholm this next year? Where would they go to play hockey if not. It would be nice to see that Potter kid go to Hibbing. Good fit for him.

dont forget about the new coming bantams... sutherland and davis will be a big impact next year. at the beginning of this year, davis tried out and was on the first line with the walters brothers!!! he quit though. he wanted to have a 3peat year going to state for bantams. and sutherland has some pretty good skills...little dezenco..now thers a player. hes suppose to be a bantam next year, but i talked to him today and he said he is going to try out. he was a first year this year and prob. the best on the team. he also lead the team in points
