Mitch,
I looked for it, but did not find a similar report for D3. Do you know if such a breakdown exists?

We should be proud of that. I wonder what our numbers are compared to Mass. , NY,and MI. It would be interesting to know the how many kids each of the top states have playing at the high school age level.

Here you go

USA Hockey has a breakdown of team registrations by age level and state.

<a href="http://www.usahockey.com/servlets/FileS ...

Looks like Michigan and Mass both have more teams than Minnesota at the lower levels and Michigan maintains their greater numbers through the 17 year old age group.

The number of teams by age group looks reasonable but the listing of the number of high school/prep teams does not include them all.

pretty good job

Thanks Mitch.
It looks like we are doing pretty well. With all the talk about we need to do this and we arent doing that and other states are ahead of us.....we still have a pretty good lead over these other states and it isnt because we have more kids.

We can always do better but its OK to look at these numbers and be proud of our efforts.

right on
