Double A:
Centennial vs. Holy Angels: This should be a decent game.. Centennial will look good and pull it off.

Wayzata vs. Tartan: Wayzata (Watch out for this team they will do damage.)

Moorhead vs. Elk River: Moorhead.. if you're going to miss a game this will be the one to miss.. Easy first round for Moorhead.

Lakeville vs. Duluth-East: Also going to be a decent match.. East makes me uneasy but they are a cocky team.. I watched them beat Grand Rapids in the finals of 7AA they didn't look that good but their goalie is amazing.. I'm giving East this one because of goal tending.

Single A:
Albert Lea vs. Breck: easy win for Breck

Wadena-Deer Creek vs. South Saint Paul: Wadena-DC is very good this year.. not too sure about this one but Im going to say W-DC.

Warroad vs. Orono: This will actually be one of the best games of the day.. Warroad isn't as good as they have been these past years.. their goalie isn't really on.. and they almost fell short to TRF and LOW.. however they have a lot of experience and I think that will get them through round 1.

Saint Cloud Cathedral vs. Hibbing: SCC beat Marshall who was the #1 team in the section.. Hibbing is kind of a 2 man team with horrible goal tending.. this will be a close game.. SCC will advance.

MY 2 Cents.. how does it look.. I want to hear your guys opinions, also players to watch!

Players to Watch that I know of:
Warroad - TJ OSHEA (had a hat trick in the first period against TRF in a regular season game)
Breck - Blake Wheeler (good)
Duluth-East (Johnson brothers.. specifically Rob Johnson (#26) big part of the team... their goalie is really good too.)

post ur replies!

sorry im going to put it all

Some who watched the Sec 8 final said that if there had been a few more minutes in regulation LOW might be going to the big show...WRD was and is down by one defensemen for the year due to punctured lung?? and the fatigue was showing in the other defense...two soft goals tied it up...only the timeout before OT saved the Warriors...will the warmer rink wear the D out at the X??

I think SLP will be upset in the first round by Duluth West

the defenseman out...

The defenseman out is David Vickaryous...also, I don't think the warmer rink will have much effect on the Warriors, defense or offense, since they play most of their regular season games in a pretty warm rink...so yeah, I would put down my picks, but I'd pretty much be repeating the guy that's about 2 or 3 posts above me (I already forgot who it was, oops!)

I don't think any of you people who write messages on this board realize how good of a team hibbing really is. They play one of the hardest schedules in the state but thats what makes them such a good team. St.CC on the other hand along with Wadena and Albert Lea have one of the easiest schedules in the state. Hibbing got by two of the better teams in the state to advance to state. On the other hand again St.CC played one okay team and Wadena and Albert Lea had no competition. Hibbing has good goaltending and the forwards and defense have really stepped it up. I think that they will show who they really are at the state tournament. Go Bluejakets!!!!!!

hockeyfan35 i totally agree with you. You hit the nail right on the head i think everyone will see that the bluejackets have totally improved by 150% since the beginning of the season. I can't wait to go and see them play at the X Cel!!!

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> GO BLUEJACKETS!!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Wow, Hibbing barely gets by Hermantown, outshot 14 to 30something if I remember right, has a lousy record, but is a team to look out for? They may have had a tough schedule, big deal, they lost to some good teams. When they win against the good teams, then brag about the schedule. For now, just be glad the tourney didn't put you against Breck or Warroad for the first game. Wouldn't want to get beat on t.v. I do have to give them credit, although it was a weak section this year, they did win it. Hope the boys have fun and maybe prove me wrong.

Had you been at the section 8 title game you would have known that Warroad had control of the puck in the LOW zone after the tieing goal and had the game kept going, Oshie looked like he was going to put it away. Case it point it only took Warroad less then 2 mins to win in ot. As for my picks, it will be a Warroad Breck final and if Warroad don't play for the whole game they will lose but if the come to play Breck will lose. These two teams are close, I'm picking Warroad 4-1 over Breck
