Did the 93 and/or 94 Blades make any significant roster changes this year that will make them better?

Don't know much about him. How do the Blades stack up against the other independent and other non independent AAA teams?

The Minnesota 88's were a force. The same basic group of organizers is now running the Minnesota '96's, a.k.a. The 96 Machine, which went undefeated last summer. A coach mentioned this past weekend that he thought they might be the best '96 team in the nation. As for the Blades, I heard Max Smith of Eastview has joined them; he is a '92 or '93.

my brother plays 96 machine and they did lose one gma this summer but to a 95 or a 94 team idk remember as for the best team in the nation, there up there it wud be intteresting to see how theyd fair in a national competition, although they did beat 2 of canada's best teams by 10 goals a piece or sumthing like that

I think I heard they didn't lose to any '96 team, so makes sense. Is Chase Phelps from Eagan a 96 machine player, and if so how is he doing?

phelps had a good weekend in the elite classic idk how many points he had but he looked solid to me, if the machine stays together theyll prolly end up having the same success as the 88's the have a some great skaters: jake wahlin, tyler nanne, jack walker, miguel fiedler, thats just 2 name a few they're all very strong skaters those are prolly their best though

You people are insane your talking about 9 and ten year old kids like everything will remain the same 5 years from now. The whole concept of the 96 machine is so insane I can't believe people pay thousands of dollars to participate. 2.5 hours of practice 4 days a week in the summer.

No I wouldn't.
If my kid is going to be good enough to make the pros I am not going to know that or even be able to prepare him for that at age 9. I think it would be better to try to prepare him to play H.S. first.

Your talking about top level 88 players at the bantam level not the squirt level.
Remember as soon as Bernie sees a kid who is better then one he already has he will pick that one up and replace the other. I am willing to bet that the 96 machine is not the same team at the Bantam level.

How wrong you will be. He will lose a few but a core group will be the same. The 88's were pretty much the same 8 kids with fill in players for tournaments.

Yep, Bernie will turn all of them into NHLers. No doubt about it. You people are not over the top. You are all sane. Machine = NHL.

not sayin they will be nhler's, just they will be together through bantams. like the post before stated they won't make it through that far. I don't read were anyone even said nhl, i believe it just states d1 scholarships.

Sorry. You are right. 97 Machine = D1 not NHL. In fact, these 8-9 year olds should play more games at Mariucci to get used to the ice.

Bernie is nuts. The parents that eat up every word he says (or Screams) is nuts. The 88's were a loaded team. Anyone could have coached them won with the boys that he had. If bernie stayed within an association and developed kids year in and year out, he may get my respect, but come on! He coaches an all star team! Bernie is cashing in on the 88's. He makes a killing off of willing parents. The guy has been run out of a couple of associations. Enjoy your kid being there while you can, because as soon as there is someone better, your just a number with a checkbook to him!

A Loaded team.... How did they get that way? All of them trained with him, that says something. I would have loved to play for the guy. Have you ever been through one of his clinics? The only reason he got run out is that he is brutally honest, and most parents can't handle it nor do they want to hear it. You have kids that want to play hockey, he wants the kids who want to BE HOCKEY PLAYERS. The ones who shoot in the driveway with out being bribed with a new stick. The ones that don't want to play baseball or football.

ive done clinics with him and my brother is on one of teams, i think he beneifted from it after the first week, bernie does not care about winning, he cares about how minnesota hockey players are developed thats why at most of his clincis you dont shoot or pass or anything he teaches you how to handle the puck, in the breakfast club which i attend on sunda morning, how to skate and to a better hockey player

I might be mistaken but didn't Bernie create that 88 team when those kids were older 2nd year peewees and first year bantams. They only played together for a couple of years. Most of his team came from the blades and team minnesota. I'm fairly certain his son Jamie played on the blades a few years.

Bernie deserves alot of credit he makes a killing off a bunch of parents that don't understand physical development of children. They see them as little adults that are going to continue to be the same in the future as they are now.

If that is were you want to spend your money then guys like Bernie are going to continue to vacation in Tahiti.

im also fairly certain his son will be attending Wisconsin nest year, and flynn, okposo are gophers, and other kids are d-1 so if you want to rip Bernie you can go ahead the guy is a great coach
