I am saddened to hear of his passing. I am a loyal Twins fan and was a fan of Puckett's since he donned the Baby blue Twins uniform.
My thoughts and prayers goes out to his family, especially his kids.
He may have had some off-field problems, but this man was a true lover of the sport he played and was always smiling. Everyone on this board loves hockey, MN hockey and we need to honor this man's love of his sport also.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Some of my favorite memories growing up included watching Kirby. Easily he is the Twins most reckognizable athlete ever. If you are a Twins fan, the memory is probably still fresh in your mind of Kirby leaping up against the plexi-wall, and hitting the HR to send it to a game 7 against the Braves.
He will be missed. I am just glad he made the Hall of Fame before he passed.

'Puck,' oddly enough what he was called, tought all teams of all sports that if your best player is also your hardest worker than that team will be tough to beat. Average players see Pucks commitment and thought gosh I guess I can still do more...

Puck:

Thank you for the opportunity that my family and I had to watch you play the game as it was meant to be played. Running out every grounder and always having a smile on your face. You were a fantastic role model for young kids to look up to!

R.I.P.

I watched Puck from the time he became a Twin till his last game. I am not happy with what transpired in the lawsuit, but as a ball player there was no other that came to the park and left with the same smile as he did. He showed that no matter where you come from, you will succeed with hard work and effort.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

The first glove my son ever had, even before his goalie glove, he got at Wheaties Kirby Puckett Glove Day when he was three years old. I remember the smile on his face and him sitting in the left field bleachers, holding his arm in the air for innings convinced that a ball was going to come and land in that glove.

RIP Kirby. And thanks for all you gave us.

Sad day in Minnesota sports. Rest in Peace Kirby
"By the age of 18, the average American has witnessed 200,000 acts of violence on television, most of them occurring during Game 1 of the NHL playoff series"
