I haven't seen these posted either. Wondering if there was a press release, or someone who was there could fill us all in.
www.rebelhockey.com

I know that Moose Lake's Coach, Lance Horvat, is Section 2A Head Coach of the year. Not sure on any others at this point in time, but obvioulsy the State Coaches of the Year for each class must have won their respective section awards as well.

"Success" in coaching has many different meanings to different people. I think that this is also reflected in some award winners being selected - philosophical differences in the meaning of success...

1) Some coaches win these awards for getting the most (or a lot) out of the talent they have.

2) Some coaches win these awards for winning and/or being well respected and/or being active in the coaches assn.

These two don't always coincide, and different sections of coaches sometimes employ different philosophies too.

I believe coaching is about #1.

I'm sure someone could e-mail Tim Morris and ask him, since he is the exe-secretary of MGHCA. I'm kind of shocked nothing is on the their website about it.
www.rebelhockey.com

Gullickson of New Prague was the head coach of the year and Tom Falk was the assistant coach of the year in section 1A. Pretty deserving picks I would say.
Falkster

I heard the father and son duo with the Blades - Tom and Todd Gutterman swept section 2AA. Tom was voted coach of the year for 2AA and Todd recieved the section 2AA asst. coach of the year as well as the asst. coach of the year for the state. Congrats!

Coaches of the year

It is sad to see that 5AA did not recognize Tom Osiecki as the section coach of the year. He has done so much for G HS hockey. You would think that in his last season, after 41 years of coaching, that he should have received the honor. His team did also have a great season. Too bad. I guess another missed opportunity to do it the right way, but the girl's coaches assoc. missed the boat again.

Yes Osiecki has done tons for the high school game, mostly on the boys side though. Great jog with the Blaze this past year, so I can somewhat agree with you on that one. But there are criteria that the coaches association look for, did he meet those??

Coach O was one of the pioneers of the girls game. He help start the coaches association. I am positive that he met all of the criteria. The mistake, I believe, was his. He did not let anyone know that he was retiring. I don't think he wanted the attention.
