The game is tonight in Warroad and will be played under Minnesota State High School rules except for there will be no checking. Warroad Coach Dennis Fermoyle heard from another coach that "the slowest skater on the women's team is faster than the faster skater on his team". Would be a fun game to watch.

Sure would be fun to watch. Wish I could be there. Hope someone in attendance can post some thoughts later.

I wouldn't guess or predict a four goal win for Team USA. Figure it'll be closer and I'd even give the boys a shot at winning. I think it'll be a good / competitive game.

Rooting for the ladies of course...it would be a good sign for their future potential in Torino I think.

Edit: You may want to check a related thread in the boys forum. Almost all posters there seem to give Team USA almost no chance at all in this one. I don't agree with those opinions at all.

Edited by: <A HREF=

Well, it looks like I'll have to get ghshockeyfan to tweak my computer modeling program a bit. Congrats to the boys in a somewhat no win situation.

The women did good, it would be weird to see what would have happened if there was checking allowed.

________________________________
<a href="

if they played by the boys rules with checking allowed, the boys would have beaten them by much more. Checking is soooo much of the boys game, to not be able to do so, really changes the way they play, always thinking about "not" checking, and not doing what they have been doing for the past 6 or 7 years in there game makes a huge difference.
