Really good stuff to see Moorhead, Rogers, Hill, and St. Thomas playing big games to end the season. Schedule makers hit the nail on the head this year.

I was going to STA- HM, until I realized I booked an event in Stillwater tomorrow night.
Well, there's always Moorhead- HM on Saturday.

Not a bad choice. The Ponies are pretty intriguing.

Kudo’s to STA for free admission to old farts. I walked in Tuesday and the gentleman said enjoy the game sir. I will be watching tonight’s game online tonight and will be the first game this year I haven’t seen live. Hopefully it will be better than the one lame online game I watched last year.

Why is the Moorhead game not at the Sports Center? They have them packed into Bushy, I can't imagine what parking was like at the Cullen Center.

Alexandria and Monticello tied at zero after 1.

Monticello 3, Alexandria 1 after two.

Should be a fun end of the season game on Saturday with Hill and Moorhead. I suspect there will be a lot of people at Aldrich...

HM with a solid 3-0 win over STA tonight. STA's scoring troubles continue.

Hill was very impressive tonight. Keeping STA off the board for 51 min is quite an accomplishment. They kept the penalties to a minimum. And they locked it down in the third. I was hoping for the Hill kids to give 'em the "Who's house? Our house!"

STA had a PP with about ten minutes left in the third, Hill iced it 3 or maybe 4 times, and kept STA broken up pretty good. There was a whistle with :47 left in the penalty, and Strobel called his TO. I get it, the PP is going badly, you're down 3-0, you've got to right the ship. Still, it smelled of desperation.

Three years ago on Thursday of the final week of the season, Hill shut down a very good Maple Grove 3-0, MG had fewer chances than STA did tonight. MG could bring it in the zone, but couldn't do anything with the puck except pass around the perimeter. Unfortunately, Hill peaked two weeks early, and MG gave us a championship game to remember against Andover, 16 days later. I'm sure that is on Lechner's mind now.

Lex even cracked a smile when the game ended tonight.

What? I had to drop 8 bucks to get in tonight! Oh, just free for old farts? Well that explains it.

The camera at STA is shooting through the netting. It's white netting, so it's not as bad as if it were black, but it really degrades the picture.

With Hill beating St. Thomas tonight, who wins the conference? Hockey Hub shows it as Two Rivers.

It will be split by Hill & STA. They both play multiple teams in conference for double the points. Hockey Hub never gives the credit for those games. This is how Hill and STA can play so many non-conference games. Worked well to get both teams some great matchups with all the top teams.

Two sayings that stuck with me from my youth. Troop master: if you can’t tie knots, tie lots. Youth hockey coach: if we can’t score, defend more.

STA is having a hard time scoring right now (4 total goals against eastside powers Stillwater, WBL & Hill in recent games), and they aren’t necessarily defending great either (14 goals against in their 3 recent losses to Stillwater, Maple Grove & Hill)

I still believe STA is a title contender, but they do need to get back to the team that started the season 10-0 and went 19-2 with their only losses to Moorhead. Or, they may find themselves at home watching CDH in March
