Gentry looked much better than they did on Wednesday. Three shorties propelled them to a 4-1 win. Ears are ringing from Holy Angels hitting so many posts, but the other Stars were the better team this afternoon in an impressive reversal from their feckless prior outing.

Hall looked great.

Rogers won 5-4. To say that Maple Grove is an underperforming mess of a team is an understatement. Seniors won Bantam AA championship as 9th graders. Juniors were favorites to win state tourney before it was cancelled because of COVID. Sophomores lost state championship game in OT last year to Wayzata. I’d be surprised, the way they are playing, if MG even makes state tourney this year. Hard decisions about high school program direction need to be considered in off season. Youth program sends nothing but talent to high school team. What’s wrong?

Just dipping into the board after being gone most of the day. Man, what a surprising result from that game. Fergus has been a train wreck of late, but of course they put it together against one of the better teams on their schedule. The flyers have been playing fast and loose most of the year, but they haven’t needed much defense so far. 5A is so weak that it probably won’t hurt them, but losing Couture and some top D makes them vulnerable if the offense isn’t clicking.
