I still not convinced STA has the defensive chops to win this one but I think it will be high scoring. EP looked questionable in goal during the section final. I'll take EP 8-6.

I still like STA a lot. You could probably make an argument that this is the toughest draw for a number 1 seed in quite a while.

STA’s defensive lapses and at times questionable goaltending lead me to believe EP will win. But I could see it being a close game.

EP 5
STA 3

STAA has the firepower to score with the best but enough concerns on the blueline to be vulnerable to anyone as well.

The Eagles have already beaten the Cadets twice this season but I'm going with the old "it's tough to beat a team three times in a season" adage and pick STAA to win in a barnburner.

Cadets 5-4 in OT

3rd matchup of the year between the Cadets and Eagles!

Both regular season games were tightly contested and I believe we see the same tonight.

It will be interesting to see how Lee Smith matches the lines tonight. @EP, Smith matched up the Holt-Blake-Batchelder line with the Wright-Nagel-Cronin line and in my opinion the STA line was the best line this game. @STA, Eigner matched up the Brouwer-Hallum-Graham line with the top line from EP, and I think this was a mistake from coach Eigner as EP's top line had 4 goals (1 empty net). Something to note, other than the Wright line, STA's other two forward lines will most likely be different than the first two games and in my opinion makes the team stronger.

While most people rightfully think of Jackson Hallum when STA gets brought up, keep your eye on the Colgate commit Jared Wright. I've heard that Jared has interviewed or been in contact with multiple NHL teams for the upcoming draft and has the ability to take over a game with his playmaking skills.

This game will come down to both teams goaltending, and the effort from STA's defensemen. The top line from EP is the best line in transition that I've seen all year, and if STA can eliminate odd man rushes, they are disciplined enough in the dzone to shut down this line in zone. I think both teams 3rd lines also have the ability to score goals, so this could easily be a game that comes down to forward depth. I'm very excited for this game!

Prediction:
STA 5
EP 3

There are some factors that I do not believe people are considering.

The game at EP was a back-to-back game for EP, with Jackson Blake not healthy, and he did not skate the last 2 periods. He now appears healthy. Also, there is more spacing in the offensive zones in an NHL rink than the HS rinks, which will be interesting to see which team can take advantage of this.

EP cannot count on getting a bunch of powerplays, and they will need a goal or 2 from their other 3 lines, but in the end, their D and goaltending should be better and they will win 6-3

The real sad part of the game will be the lack of a cameraman on ice to see Jake Casey's hair. He showed up on SportsCenter last year, and it has grown out even more apparently.

If EP's top line can transition off of unforced turnovers like they did in the second game, STA will be in trouble. In zone, both teams were evenly matched. Even strength in-zone goals were 2-2 in this series. EP scored 4 goals off the rush in the second game off of mostly unforced turnovers from STA. Preventing odd man rushes will be the key to the game for the Cadets, and capitalizing on them will be the key for EP.

STA are pretty much being dominated but alas 1-1 after 2nd. The EP goalie gave up a bad goal between the legs on the angle. Anyhow, cheering for STA all the way. Maybe the speed burner Hallum can get one or two opps or a deflection.

Well, I did not expect EP to have 5 PP chances and get only 1 goal. But I was close to my prediction ( 1 goal off), and they did get a goal from another line, plus their defencemen helped too. 4 Players with 25 assists and Middlesdadt with 24 for the season.

First-line played a lot, but it will help that they have an extra day to rest. They looked tired in the 2nd period, but picked it up in the 3rd

It is a reference to former HermAntown coach Bruce Plante who complained about STA when they were beating the Hawks at the A State Tournament for a number of years.

Never heard of the guy! [-X

Congrats to the Eagles on their title - feel a little less bad about the Cadets going out to the eventual champs I suppose.
