-The Spuds shut out STMA and Rogers loses, which would suggest that the road to the title in 8AA very much runs through the north

The game wasn’t anything near that close. Mayo is better than they have been in years, very solid on the back end but scoring is an issue.

Dodge County’s loss to Mayo doesn’t look so bad now.

Interesting game at International Falls. 0-0 ot tie with Greenway. Referees let them play. Pretty tense game start to finish.

Rumor on the street is that the East player played against Hermantown and was likely positive at that time. What does this mean for Hermantown going forward? And, for that matter, Cloquet since Hermantown played them tonight?

I'm not well versed in the covid protocols for positive tests for high school hockey. If there's a positive does the team have to quarantine for 2 weeks?

The one rumor must be from the swamp...the varsity stat sheet says otherwise.
It's a weird rule, I think, to shut down the other team when they're wearing masks but it is what it is. I doubt anything will happen.

Thus my making it clear it was a rumor. Genuinely glad to hear that was the case as it would be very unfortunate if it had effected Hermantown's status in a negative way. Also very disappointed for the East players and staff. Sadly, I suspect they won't be the only team in the state to have their season end in this manner.

This sux for many reasons. Whoever makes it to state out of this section won't have the battle
tested feeling of getting past East and Randolph in the playoffs.

No matter how you look at it, this section is the lesser for it now.
