Typically I’m not paying much attention to these sorts of things but not much else to do Hockey wise nowadays!! Any thoughts on who from Minnesota in the 2004 birth year gets picked? Thoughts?

Thanks Nightman
Well done EGF!
Congrats to all
Surprised by Sondreals a little bit , but others I’ve texted today say they are not . I must have been focusing on Gleason too much

Simon Houge back on defense was a blast to watch as well.
That kid has a boatload of talent and was only a freshman.

Not a single MN netminder drafted and the 04's are a pretty good group....Manz, Dardis, Erickson and Wallin.
What's up with that?
Phase II maybe?

I don’t think they would be drafted in phase II. I believe that is for older kids that haven’t been drafted. Like from lower juniors leagues or juror/senior Hs kids

04's are eligible to be drafted in Phase II as well. There were a number of 03's that were drafted last year - but you are right - mostly older guys in juniors and jr/sr's in HS. MN HS goalies aren't usually drafted in Phase I - teams wait till they get a few years older.

Slightly surprised nobody went, but only 7 goalies went in total yesterday and typically you aren't going to see more than a 1-2 MN goalies go in Phase I.
Most of the time they aren't playing MN high school either if they are drafted.

Most MN goalies spend at least a season or two in the NAHL before going to USHL. Some skip USHL all together. There’s probably more, but Jared Moe is one exception to this I can think of.

Not too surprising to me. Last year was more of an outlier with 2 MN goalies getting picked and both pretty high. Just my opinion but I think the 03 goalie group was slightly deeper and probably slightly better on the high end. All the goalies you list are top notch tenders so this takes nothing away from them. Of the '04's, I think Erickson has the best shot. He is 6'3" and has a great frame. Upside is big (no pun intended). Not always the case, but having a 6 to start your height measurement is generally an advantage.
