WBl Cretin game should be interesting. Stream 2nd and 3rd periods for me, after grandson game . I saw my first game at Highland since the McDonough era a few years ago , Gleasons first season . Got there at 6 , luckily 1 spot left in parking lot. But Almost got lost in a pothole, barely made it back to the West Metro later. Go Fund Me needed?

According to the donor-supported www.WatchingPuck.com (great site, by the way), this game will be shown on a prominent Minnesota-focused platform for FREE.

If you can field a team play the game. If you cancel the JV fine, but this seems like trying hard to avoid a loss. Cripes, in life if people call in sick work still continues. What are we going teaching kids when quitting is the best alternative?

Sorry our JV sucks, we will still run up the score on Duluth Marshall but play Eagan shorthanded? No, we will cancel instead. It should be a forfeit and count as a loss. What are we teaching kids? Quitting is better than trying? I like Randolph but this is bad. Play the kid do you have. Teams do it every week no matter how out matched they are. For East to pull this, twice?

There are schools in this state who can’t field a JV but show up for every game and play with less than 20 kids. Shame on Duluth.

Postponing games is fine. Cancelling them? That’s a different conversation.

Well they didn’t cancel the game vs Eagan. It’s postponed and are in the process of rescheduling with Eagan. From what I’ve heard they are just waiting on word of time of game and looking at Feb 10th. Also how should they play when they have close to 20 kids with influenza? Maybe as the article said they are taking the other teams kids into consideration. Also no one wants to cancel a game, but when schedules don’t line up it’s hard. No one cared last year when DE and Lakeville south had to cancel with no make up. Or any of the games this season that got canceled due to weather.

One comment that I find interesting, they have practice scheduled on Tuesday but they postponed the game? Don't get me wrong, I do fell terrible for the kids with flu and not saying they should play the game, but if you can't play a game how can you have a practice? I get not wanting to spread it to other team, but in same sentence also says we want to field a competitive team.

Direct quote from the coach: “I want to make sure they are OK and fully recovered because I don’t want (opponents) to get sick or us not be able to put a competitive team on the ice.”

Kind of contradictory, I want to be fully recovered seems to imply that we don't want to just play with what we have, especially when there is enough kids to practice.

Hmmmmm

I heard it was an optional skate and they had about only 12 kids show up.

Not talking about Monday optional skate. Tuesday skate which is today and also same day as cancelled game... Quote from the article below.

"The team was scheduled to have an optional skate Monday, though Randolph stayed away due to his own illness, and has its first practice since the outbreak set up for Tuesday."

I tried to go to a game at Highland last year but was running late and people were parking on the street. I turned around and went home. Is parking allowed on Snelling or better yet what are the options if the Highland lot is full? Thanks.

If they have been sick, that bad, for that long, having a skate today (instead of a game) probably makes sense. They need to make sure they are there, healthy, on the same page etc...

7:58 pm - Scoreless 1st from the Snoopy rink. Cretin took a mad run of minor penalties in the latter part of the period.
8:18 pm - Billy Rose from Sam Newpower early in the 2nd makes it 1-0 WBL.
8:35 pm - That was only goal so far. Bears have an overhanging PP to start the final frame.
8:56 pm - My vote for Mr. Hockey just brought it up ice on the PP, cut into traffic, and tied it post and in. 1-1
9:02 pm - One Fisher from the other and C-DH now leads 2-1.
9:05 pm - Gleason pressed the pace and drew a penalty. Raiders go on the power play with a lead.
9:06 pm - Now 3-1 w/ 6:12 to go as Nei from Sondreal hit the twine.
9:18 pm - Empty net goal for Matthew Gleason seals it. 2G, 1A for the night. 4-1 F

Hard to me to see C-DH drop past 1 or 2 seed in Section VI. Big 3rd period tonight.

I totally agree. This has never happened before. Kids have getting really sick in hockey for 100 years. I think it’s the end of a nice run for Randolph. I hope not, but it seems the writing is on the wall.

Hub shows 8-1 Cloquet-Esko-Carlton over Forest Lake after a 3rd period outburst. A good win for them.

Forest Lake scored 12 seconds in. We led 2-1 after 2. SOG was alway a big ad for us. That goaltender looked really sharp in net. After 5 quick goals early in the 3rd period, she was pulled. Forest Lake was very frustrated. A nice win for my purple 👍
