The main thing that struck me was the starting times...one hour earlier across the board. I can understand that because 9 p.m. was really late for a start time.

11 AM is nice I think. The last few seasons I have been to section games on a Sat. at 11 AM. 3 years ago GR/CEC at the DECC, one of my favorite memories of HS hockey. Fast game too, it was like and hour and 15 minutes or something ridiculous like that. Last season I liked it too in Hibbing with Virginia and Silver Bay, I thought it was great not to have to wait all morning for a game. I went to a little cafe in Hibbing for breakfast, chewed the fat talking old school hockey with the local old timers read the paper and headed over to the HMB. Great memory, except Rapids losing that day.

9PM does get late. Especially for school kids, not Middle school or HS, but the elementary kids.

Well I actually kinda liked the starting times later when I was a student. I makes it those nights that much more important and they stick out because they are the nights that were "exceptions" from regular nights. And the next day at school kids would be like "man you look tired" and you could proudly say "yeah i didn't get home until 1:30 i stayed until the end of the tartan/elk river game ... it was sweet!"
