Can the Cards pull off the upset?

Nope. Blake B. is a household name now for good reason. Hermantown’s depth and top end talent are AA like.

Hermantown is ripe for an upset. If they had played against Greenway the way they played against Monticello they wouldn't be here. Seems like they don't have the intensity. Same as last year but with less talent.

I am a true homer and will pick the Cards. If they play a similar game as they did against Cathedral, they have a shot. Very aggressive and physical, but clean. Responsible in the D zone. If we get some quality zone time, we can score on Hermantown. If we get pinned in our zone too long, it will be very tough. My call is 3-2 in OT.

The announcers need to stop talking about Jack Powell... It’s getting creepy at this point.

You mean Mister Powell...
I agree, kids good but both sides have some good players.
And stay with the game guys...
the game is what is important, not you.

Boy it sure seems that the announcers of this game are being paid some good money to gush Hermantown. Don’t get me wrong I love #218 puck, but it’s getting pretty thick. #soundturnedoff

You must be listening to the radio.....the TV guys' love for Powell is over the top.

Yup... watching the game in Alex and it I will say Powell does deserve much praise as he is having a great tourney. However, I would love to see some of the other Alex players get some credit. Defense is a 6 player effort. I just texted his dad and told him not to let Parrish near his son this weekend.

One more period, Cards. The goalie made me nervous with a few of the fat rebounds he allowed, but has withstood the barrage so far. Hopefully I’m not repeating some of the annoying announcer antics since I had the sound turned down for most of the first two periods, but Alexandria seems really poised in their own end, even under heavy pressure.
(Edit: Alex managed to score before I could submit the message, and of course it was Powell

)

Someone will HAVE to explain to me why that is NOT a Penalty Shot.

Kind of fun watching Hermantown get the score run up on them for a change.

So someone out there must know how many games it's been since Hermantown lost to an A team, and how long it's been since they lost a tourney game that wasn't the championship.

Last time Hermantown lost a semifinal game( in state tournament) was 2006 when they lost to St. Thomas Academy 6-5 in double overtime.

Speechless. I'll just say "WOW". Go get 'em tomorrow, Alex!

Picked Alex in the State pickem' challenge but sure did not expect that outcome. Sort of thought H-town was ripe for the upset this year after a much deeper 2017 team went 3 overtime matches.

love all the votes for Alex in the poll, after they win. Ha! Only 2 of us picked Alex before the game got out of hand.

Bring the Cadets back to A. At least HTown stayed close to the Tommies.

Sorry, I wad one of them. If I wouldn't have been at the game, I would have voted for them ahead of time.
