With the Trojans getting the win over Hermantown last night it sets up a nice game today between DE and Wayzata. It's hard to get a feel for who is going to pull away as the season goes on. Seems to be quite a few solid teams.

Can’t find anyone who can remember that Roseau ever came to Braemar arena. What say you or other forum members?

Also, would you be able to easily find how Edina and Roseau have fared in head-to-head winners bracket competition at the state tournament over the years?

Thanks!

Looks like Edina leads Roseau 7-1 in winners bracket play at state. I could have missed something in there. That should be close though.

thanks grindian

I think I will head over to Braemar tonight just for the sheer honor and historical perspective of seeing these two legendary teams on the ice together again But I have to say I’m a little worried the Rams May have overscheduled themselves on this one. Maybe Rams can call Hill M and borrow Helgeson for the night , after all they made him what he is today!

Shots are 12-0 Benilde at the 10 minute mark. Holm has made so incredible saves. Rapids still missing two players

1-0 Benilde after 1. Rapids got their first shot on goal with 3 seconds left in the period. Shots are 24-1. Don't see how Rapids will make it to 5 wins with their brutal schedule. I can see more than a couple of games going into running time.

Did 4-5 guys really make the difference between state champs and now? Holum is going to see some rubber this year.

3-0 end of two. Shots 40-4. Rapids had one opportunity to score through two periods. Smallest crowd I've seen at the IRA. It's a decent size but not what you'd normally see.

Now 3-0. SOG are now 40-4.

It's all just too bad to see. Kids out of control, 3 superstars leave early, and Klatt exits. With that schedule.....wow! It's not fun to see a team like Grand Rapids in this position. But, you have to bottom out sometimes to get better.

Cretin comes back from a 2-0 deficit after the 1st period to beat Eden Prairie 6-3 (ENG). Eden Prairie didn’t look good even with the early lead. A lack of puck control and players marching to the penalty box got Cretin back in the game. Carson Jones had a good game for Eden Prairie. He scored the first two goals, created turnovers, and had a nice behind the back move to get past a defender, but couldn’t convert the scoring chance, which would had been a hat trick. John Mittelstadt in his varsity debut, scored assists on both of Jones’ goals. Grayson Milosch had three assists for Cretin.

We’ll see a couple new top ten teams with Hill-Murray and Eden Prairie dropping out.

Final 8-0 at Braemar

Great honor to see these legendary teams on the ice together, and s/o to Rams for scheduling the best

Met one Edina and one Roseau fan who thought the two teams had met at Braemar in late 7os or early 80s , but neither was sure . Otherwise , everyone said no

Thought Giles should have gone to 3rd and 4th lines and 2nd and 3rd D pair
early in third

Great to talk with uncle of Roseau’s most famous citizen

East beat Wayzata 4-2 (EN) this afternoon. At first it seemed to be following a similar script to the night before, with East controlling early and then struggling in the second, but this time the Hounds responded with a 3-goal third period. Randolph broke up Worth, Mageau, and Donovan for the first two periods to send a message, and when reunited they looked better, especially on the power play, which had been anemic for a game and a half. Penalty filled game with a lopsided shot count, but Wayzata did its usual Wayzata things and blocked a ton of shots and played opportunistically to make this interesting.

Wasn't worth watching. Roseau had two, maybe three, scoring chances all game.

Holum will set a team record for most saves in a season.
