Watch online and claim to have a close relative in every game.

Go to the break room and watch on the big screen TV and tell the boss that that is that.

Or go in person.

I will be going with Option 3 but have signed up for a couple "online training video sessions" at the same time so all I have to do is switch tabs and can be relaxing in my seat without looking suspicious.

Is the only streaming option the Prep45 site? $9.95/day.

Might just listen to the radio at work and watch the night games when I get home.

Going Thursday, after that just watch 'em on TV. I love retirement.

DVR them, and then have a late night hockey viewing marathon. Fast forward through the TV timeouts/intermissions, and hope for games with few whistles.

Working extra hours today, Tuesday and Wednesday so won't miss a minute of the Thursday and Friday games. DVD recorder will record everything.

I did this when I was younger, although this was back in the VCR days. I'd get home from school and try to race thru the afternoon games before the evening session started.

Great answer! Hope the boss doesn't catch on that you have a "close relatives" playing every year and for different teams.

I don't work Wednesday thru Saturday so it sets up perfectly each year. I will be in section 112 as I have been since 2001 and bedding down at the Holiday Inn as I have since 2013, love my little staycation in St Paul each year for the tournament!! I will be in attendance for all 8 sessions and 16 games Wednesday thru Saturday. I will make my usual visits to Cossetta's, Shamrocks, Liffey's Pub and American Burger Bar for some good eats! I will be joined by my wife and son who enjoy the hockey tournament as much as I do. I will be cheering on Lakeville South, Moorhead, Wayzata and Grand Rapids for Class AA, Delano and East Grand Forks in Class A. See ya all there!!

Taking vacation here...looking forward to a week of fun at the X, both at the games, and as I drink the atmosphere (and drink in a few other things, too) all around St. Paul. Looking forward to seeing lots of old friends, and some of you, too.

My best Tourney conflict story, though: when I was in grad school at the U a few years back, I had a final exam for a half-semester class conflict with an East quarterfinal. My professor, who was not a native Minnesotan and had no idea what he was getting himself into, received an entire history lesson/grovel as I tried to get it moved.

Success. I got to take the exam on a different day. And the guy still hired me as his TA later on, so I guess I didn't burn that bridge too much.

Classic. I'm still in law school so this is my last year of being able to watch between/in class discretely. Good thing Wayzata doesn't play until the evening. After this year, I guess it'll be saving up vacation days or finding an employer who understands the Tourney.

I used to work extra, trade shifts, or take vacation but those days ended a few years ago. I don't watch the A games until Saturday anymore so my only conflict is Thurdsday.....I pay the money for the online feed and watch it during lunch or have the sound on in the background if I am working at the computer. The bigger issue for me this year is I have to be at girls basketball Thursday evening with no way to watch or listen.

I will be in attendance all 4 days with old hockey buddies. It's just understood that I won't be at work. Similar to Happy, even though I live in the metro, still stay in DT St Paul for the Tourney.

I always try to take vacation Wed-Fri the week of the hockey tourney. Been going every year since 1993. I chill at home for the Wednesday games - in Section 119 for the AA games. I post here in the forums usually in March, then I move on to other interests.
