Undefeated & Winless Teams

As of today, November 25, here's a list of the 16 teams that so far haven't lost, and a separate list of the 14 teams that haven't yet managed to win a game. Considering the history of the programs, there are some surprises on each list, I believe.
Any guesses as to which team(s) will be next to be removed from each list? Or which team(s) you think will remain undefeated (or winless) the longest? (taking into account that some teams' schedules are much tougher than others!) Anyway, feel free to comment either way.

Just noticed after looking at this Friday's games that Holy Family/Waconia is due to play Prior Lake. So unless they tie the Winless List

will already shrink by one.

HM is the only one on the list that I think can run the table. They could win third title in a row and not lose a game this year imo. Totino and N Metro have to play each other so someone is getting a win or tie there. Cant wait for the Christmas Tourneys. Maybe a few upsets down in St. Paul. I hope every one has a happy thanksgiving. I will be feasting on a freshly killed doe. She was weak and could not keep up..

Must have killed it in Wisconsin, there aren't many deer left in MN.

I watched Woodbury a couple weeks back. I doubt they will win a game, which is unbelievable given their catchment area.
According to MN Girls Hockey Hub, the SOG disparity when they played Cretin-Derham Hall was 72-3. That is absurd.

Since the association feeds both high schools and both schools are struggling, a future co-op might be necessary
Be careful on those SOG #'s...in the last 2 weeks we have attended games where the reported SOG# are significantly bloated from the what actually happened...It's silly but it happens

Looking ahead on their schedule, it looks like their best opportunities may be Mayo, the Blades and Rosemount.

That's a fair point. But I did go to a game between Woodbury and Mounds View and decided to count 'em because of the CDH game. MV had over 50 SOG.
And either way, both CDH and Mounds View scored over 10 goals.

Woodbury and East Ridge were a coop until #37 became their head coach and got the program split. Don't know reasons why but now #37 is the ER boys head coach. Saw ER beat Beat White Bear last night.

I think it's interesting that of all the unbeaten teams, only 2 are in the top 30 for SOS. That is Edina at #1 SOS, HM at 12, while the others are in the 30's & 40's.

That is interesting, but it kind of makes sense when you think about it. Teams that play consistently tough schedules, even the best of teams, are bound to have an off-game at some point and are no longer undefeated (but hopefully playing that consistently tough schedule will pay off, come sections, when it really counts).
I see though that a couple of teams in the Top 10 SOS appear to be over-reaching in that regard, and you wonder how much good it does them when they lose nearly every game by a lopsided score. It's hard to get better when you rarely have the puck, which can be demoralizing too.
Also you would expect the SOS ranking for the other Lake Conference teams to climb into the Top 20 as they get into conference play. For example Hopkins/Park, currently at #26, will rise rapidly when they get into round robin play with Edina, Wayzata, Eden Prairie and Minnetonka. Hill-Murray's #12 ranking, on the other hand, will go down as they play more of the teams within their conference, although their very tough non-conference schedule will help balance that out to some extent.

Minnetonka suffers its first loss of the season, in overtime to Hopkins, leaving just three with a zero in the loss column. On Tuesday Dodge County will present a major challenge for New Ulm, while Stillwater will test Hill-Murray. Meanwhile, SPU shouldn't have too much difficulty with the St. Paul Blades.
The Winless Teams list stays at six.

Crazy stat as I was looking at the schedule today.
Hill-Murray has played 11 games (with only 3 against bad opponents). They have 6 shutouts and have given up 6 goals. When's the last time a team has as many shutouts as goals against after 10 or more games? I'm sure it won't last...
After looking at St. Paul United...
They have 14 wins, with 9 goals given up and 8 shutouts. So not far behind although against a less formidable schedule.

Like I've said in previous posts. Hill will prob run the table and win 3rd AA champ game. SPU is plenty good but they don't play a tough schedule imo. Good luck to Hill next weekend
