I know how CEC is looking. I just am curious to hear about East, Grand Rapids, and Hermantown. I sure wish the Hawks played AA hockey in the playoffs in high school. Great kids/hockey players over there. Rivalries would be awesome!!!!!!

From what I learned around the rink this summer ...
Grand Rapids: lowest year in a while. But considering how just absolutely great they've been the last 2-3 years at Bantam level, that's to be expected.
Duluth East: I don't know much about this, but I've seen their V, JV, and BEL teams this summer ... I'm pretty sure all of their higher end talent is up in HS. I do know their HS teams will be deep and talented for the next 3 years or so. Bantam should be a bit low, their PWAA and BAA last year were not impressive. Mostly due to call ups to HS.
Hermantown: no clue. Have a very nice defense man in BEL. That's about all i know. Saw them play my youngest last year at BAA, wasn't impressed.
I'm taking CEC in a landslide this year. So long as coach can keep his cool on the bench. Jesus dude, the career is over. Lighten up.

Just chiming in on Duluth East BAA....I'm guessing not this year.
On DAHA's website:
All City Bantam AA Head Coach Position Available.
Lot's of unknowns how this will pan out. At one point both west Duluth and Duluth east associations voted not to make any combined Duluth youth teams years back. I don't know the details on how this all came about, just that a Duluth BAA team is happening this winter. Will there be a Duluth BAA and a Duluth East BAA, probably not from what I'm hearing.
Bantam age Marshall kids will eligible for this team I'm assuming as they normally would play for West Duluth.
Interesting turn of events.

DAHA has actually been discussing combining B teams for quite awhile now. I'm not sure how that made any sense since Denfeld can only field one team at PeeWee and Bantam anyway. They wouldn't have enough kids to field A teams if their B level players were placed on a B team.
This combined Bantam AA team came out of nowhere though. It was prompted at a board meeting in July by the revelation that East had 5 Bantam kids who were opting for JV this year rather than Bantams. They were concerned that if they weren't competitive teams would quit playing them. Very strange. Other than financial reasons, I can't imagine any reason a kid would choose JV over Bantam AA. Even stranger is that East needs this many Bantam kids to fill out a JV team.

Good move. I think a single youth hockey association in Duluth would be best.
Are the girls a single youth association?

I think this is a good move for them. I wonder how long it will be before they combine high school teams.
