This sounds like a long shot but I will never be against an idea of more hockey...what are your thoughts?

I think the person who proposed this is so out of touch with reality that it scares me they are an elected public official in Minnesota.

Ugh. I'm embarrassed for Proctor. Thank God I don't have to tell people I was born there. :)

If the City Council in Proctor is talking about a new Hockey Arena, that is a positive for their program, NHL pipe dream or not. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

We tell our kids to dream the dream, and don't let anybody tell you that you can't do or can't succeed. i think it's great Proctor has a dream. Personally, I think Proctor is amazing! Sandwiched between Hermantown, Esko, Cloquet, and Duluth. And what they do in all their youth sports and high school athletic programs. Very impressive!!

The population of Green Bay was 31,643 in 1920, a year after the Packers were formed. Keep the dream alive Proctor!

I've always admired them too. They've developed some very talented hockey players over the years. Sadly, many of them are in Hermantown now. I have friends there in the various Youth Programs and they are a very dedicated bunch. They know how to have fun and limit the politics that normally go along with Youth Sports. I've heard there is a lot of momentum there now for a new arena. That should help them keep more of their hockey players home and would be great for them.

But Proctor doesn't have an entire state to draw from, with cities like Madison and Milwaukee....even Chicago. They are delusional at best.

It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.

It's a $2 million non-refundable deposit to present a proposal to the NHL. $500 million expansion fee if the NHL actually accepts it. Good luck to them raising those funds.
