Congratulations to Buffalo....... For getting out of 6AA.

Has anyone noticed that 2 years ago 8AA went from 8 teams to 9 teams, while 6AA went from 8 teams to 7 teams? How does that happen. #conspiracy

And don't give me the " they lost Roseau's opt up" argument when they had the boys and they could make a phone call to clear that up.

The Metro State High School League and the Metro Girls Hockey Coaches Association has what they want - an all metro, no out state final.

Geographic state tourney? I don't think so.

We should go to 2 classes - metro and out state. Play the out state in duluth, Bemidji, St. Cloud and Mankato.

Well either Roseau can beat Buffalo or they aren't going to be state champs. Everyone plays tough teams along the way, and you either win or go home.

Sections are reclassified every 2 years by the MSHSL based on enrollment numbers, opt ups and Loosely based geography. Strength of program not a consideration.

Explain how Roseau as the home team has to drive over 4 hours to play a section final game and Buffalo only drives just over 1 hour. Then we will all understand how things happen.

Buffalo played a very good game tonigh. Good luck to them at the State Tourney.

I know, Roseau fans are used to home games in the sections but didn't get it this year. Find Ogee and have a beer. Sun will come up tomorrow.

You make no sense. Its called a Netrual site not a home game. Are you new to this?

On the boys side elks have to play every year in Duluth in sections. That's the way it is and we deal with it. Sad for all the girls that get beat and season is over but they will be fine at the end of the day. The Wolfman loves hockey and it's the best sport ever....

I am not sorry for the girls losing. Like I said, Buffalo played a very good game.

Would think they could have found a rink about 2 hours travel for each team? Doesn't 8A and 8AA boys have up to three options for sites based on who is playing?

Cry me a river Irugman. I get the the North teams not at state. The north teams at AA are over matched and that's that. Don't hate the the girls. We all play by the same rules. If you think things made to be changed make some noise brother.

How soon Roseau fans forget, they played last year in the section final and buffalo drove close to 4 hours and Roseau drove a little over an hour played in bemidji.

Nothing will change With North dads. It's always they get pucked by metro.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but to see 12 of the ranked top teams in the state sitting at home.... Frustrating... I wish I had an answer. I think you need to drive north more often.

Roseau to Brainerd 230 miles
Buffalo to Brainerd 98 miles

Roseau to Bemidji 135 miles
Buffalo to Bemidji 187 miles

You can not argue with math. And we do not forget the games we play. We have to drive for all of them.

Hey, I am not crying. You are the one going crazy over this. And over matched, I dont think so. You need to play the good teams.

And you are right, the North dads will not change, they are some of the first to congratulate the winning team and wish them luck next weekend. Just go ask the Buffalo parents.

No, nothing is wrong. This is why we play the games and not let a regular season ranking be the final story. Head to head the best team that night wins. Everyone can get beat.

Just proves that rankings are fodder for fans and regular season publicity. There is parity throughout the top 20 and the section playoffs are better attended than the state tournament. There is some great hockey being played in the state.

When sections start every team has the oppotunity to get to the quarter finsls at the state tourney....The 16 who make it, deserve it.
It doesn't matter if you think top teams don't get there..they didn't earn it.

The tournament starts on day one of sections and not at the X.

The best teams use the unfair alignments and broken section process as motivation, not as an excuse. Try playing in 6AA for a day and you'll see. Yes, we all know it's unfair and we know it's easier for the powers that be to do nothing whatsoever than to fix it, but it's the world we live in, like it or not. Again, do you use it to motivate you to become better or do you use it as a crutch?

For those who are saying the section alignments are simply "not fair" based upon the LPH rankings, please outline what actually would be "fair", and who goes where.

IMO, there is no "fair" realignment. There will always be upsets. There is no perfect system. And even if something is deemed "fixed", due to talent fluctuation, it will be unbalanced again soon after. Take Section 7AA as an example. Right now, it might be considered weak. Do you move Maple Grove over there to balance things out? Elk River has a very good team, and was upset by Andover who was sub-500 to finish the season. Nevertheless, Andover has a great crop of gals coming up soon from 12A. They also have a great 10A team. Also look at Forest Lake. They have the same situation at 12A and 10A as Andover. So if things play out as one might think, section 7AA will be strong 2 years from now. Move MG in there, and now they are too strong. What do you do then?
