I think Elite is just part of their name. I doubt it's meant to describe the level of the team. I can only speak for the 05's. We played them this summer and they had one Defenseman who could be considered Elite and the rest of the players were all average. To be fair, a Dad on the other team said they were missing 4-5 kids, so maybe those were Elite too. I just think it's dumb to have the word "Elite" in your name though unless you're actually Elite. CCM Elite is another one. We saw a lot of teams that were a lot better than them at the 05 level.

My kid played for Ice Edge a couple years ago and they had two teams at that age group, the better one was dubbed "Elite" and they played invite tourneys vs the open tourneys my kid's team played in. Don't know if that is consistent through the program.
