Saw that too. They were out and about for the weekend. Sometimes brings out the best and sometimes the worst..! Stoney Creek Tourney is coming up the weekend of Sept. 12th and I've heard it's similar !! Hard to beat the hockey between NAHA and Stoney Creek and coaches, etc.. know..!!

There were three teams from Minnesota playing at the U19 level:
Blades-Tipler, Pool Play 1-1-1, W-St. Francis Xavier1-0, L-Stoney Creek Jr. 4-0, T-KW Rangers 3-3, Ranked 5th in pool of 8 teams, played in third bracket, Lost first play off game 1-0, in either OT or shootout
Blades-Dochniak, Pool Play 2-1, W-Barrie 3-1. L-Durham West 6-2. W-Team Detroit 9-0, Ranked 3rd in pool of 8 teams, played in second bracket, Lost to London 3-1
IceCats-Seper, Pool Play 2-1, L-Whitby 2-1, W-Southwest 3-2, W-Banff 7-0, Ranked 3rd in Pool of 8, played in second bracket, Advanced to Semi-finals by W-Leaside 2-1, W-Aurora 2-0. L-Etobicoke 4-2
Stoney puts on a great tournament with many teams being very competitive. Only observation from talking with other USA team parents is that when the going gets tough for the Canadian teams, the refs step in to help out ie... CYA 11-2 penalties in game vs home town Stoney Creek, IceCats when they were up in their two games vs Canadian teams while in the lead, spent the majority of the third period 3/4 on 5 for close to seven minutes. Can't say that is not possible, but there were some mysterious calls made that affected the game.
Chicago Mission beat Whitby in finals 2-0 and Etobicoke took 3rd place 3-2 over London.

The list of schools who showed at this tourney was as good or better than almost any elite showcase my son has been involved in. Impressive. For the MN girls who are on the D1 and 3 radar, and really for the women's hockey game as a whole.
