Bauer is suing the old AA for trademark infringement with their new name. Might have to switch to Easton-Ruesse and give another run. Do these guys have endless amounts of money to throw around?

I was wondering when that was going to happen!

It would appear so.
It would also appear, their IQ's are not.

They are going to have to change their name... names being considered are
NIKE Prep Academy or Wayne Gretzky Prep Academy or Shattuck-St. Margret's ...Vote for your favorite.

Normal Hockey Learning Academy (or NHL Academy for short)

Acronyms are too limiting.
They say they chose "Bauer" because it means "farmer" in German, and farmers work hard...just like their students.
Along those lines, since the school's emphasis on hockey is unrestrained, and since "wild" is a synonym of unrestrained, then there's no reason not to call it the "Minnesota Wild Academy," right?

Don't have to be smart, to separate fools from their money.

Since I am having problems posting pictures, if you really want a chuckle go the the B-E web site and take a close look at the picture of their academy building complete with B-E signage. Looks real impressive and is a nice photo shopped picture of the North St Paul community center and library.
I wonder how the taxpayers of North St Paul feel about the use of their building in a promotion for a profit based business.[/img]

You think they're not going to be located in there or something?

GB58,
Hmmm . . . You should ask the taxpayers of the State of Minnesota the same question regarding: the new People's Stadium (a/k/a the Vikings Stadium), the Xcel Energy Center (home to the Wild), the Target Center (home to the Timber Wolves and Lynx), Target Field (home to the Twins), and the new St. Paul Saints Field (home to the Saints). All of these teams are for profit entities; all include photos of their respective homes in their promotional literature; and all benefit from taxpayer subsidized fields.

My understanding is that they will be leasing the building.

My understanding is that the building is/was up for sale as the city couldn't affort it any longer and Ability Academic & Athletic LLC was looking at purchasing it. I guess the use of the picture might be okay if they own or lease it.

Apparently the Bauer-Emerson name for school is going forward.... I would think web-site would be down by now if a change was going to be made and it is not!

I've got $5 that says they go with Warrior Academy. Can't wait to see the mascot.

The mascot should be a Gopher with an arrow through it's head.....cause MN High School Hockey is dying! You can fight it all you want, but AAA is taking over. Yea.....it might take 5 or 10 years, but your hockey programs with such storied pasts are the only things MN is going to have to hang onto. Don't get me wrong, I love the community based hockey model....I really do. However, kids and parents are tired of the politics, coaches ego, repetitive short seasons, and the list goes on. It's just a matter of time.

PS81:
Are you insinuating there is no politics, coaching egos; etc. in AAA hockey?
Also, what is your definition of "taking over"

Yeah, what this guy said.
Hell, I'd argue they're worse ... by FAAAAR.
For profit hockey will destroy what we have. The only reason Minnesota is what it is, is because of the community model. My god, I do not want to live in a world of Acheiver Academy Bauer-Emerson McBain Moore short STicked PUck heads.

Another Non-Minnesotan predicting the demise of the Community Model. Everyone here is keen to the motive behind this so you guys might as well just start saving your breath. Relax, the State added one Tier 1 team that hasn't even played a game yet. Tired of the politics and coaches ego? Yeah, because it's way worse in Association hockey than AAA.

People will try it out because they think Little Richie is wasting his talents playing with the riff-raff in the Association, or that the coach in the Association is not focused enough on little Richie's path to the NHL. To these people the grass is always greener; right up until it isn't. The real test will be how many do it for more than one season. My best guess is that it won't even really get off the ground here. I've said it a hundred times, it only works in other states because you either play AAA or you don't play. Fortunately, we don't have that problem here. Everyone gets to play with their buddies in their communities, at a fraction of the cost, against the best competition in the world, all within a short drive. This "Dying" system produces the most Division 1 and Pro Hockey players in the Country. Winter AAA hockey doesn't have much to offer here for 99.9% of the parents. It's only the .1% that have the next lil' Gretzky that may find it attractive.

Someone should track the# of these AAA kids from NSP that go on to play in the NHL.

Wow, yeah the MNHS programs are sure dying. Biggest HS sporting event in the nation? Or darn close? If you are looking to avoid politics, ego, under the table decisions, etc. FOR SURE go AAA. HAHAHAHAHA. Good one.
From someone who has been there, really, that's hilarious.
