ASPIRE Great MN Shootout

Got the e-mail today for the ASPIRE Great MN Shootout at Braemar this weekend. Directly from the e-mail:
"On Saturday, from 11AM to Noon, Dan Brooks will be at the ASPIRE tent with the "Miracle on Ice" 1980 Olympic gold medal that was presented to his father, the legendary coach Herb Brooks."
I didn't think coaches received any medals at either the Summer or Winter Olympic games. Am I incorrect? I was just curious if this is actually a legitimate 1980 Olympic gold medal for Men's Ice Hockey. Not planning on attending, but that quote caught my eye.
