I know there is "that team", maybe a different association at every level, that is known for their cheap shots and time in the box.

NO lets not name these kids or teams, but I am curious if stats are available for penalty minutes at youth level? Hub reports penalties along side points so I'm curious if this is tracked for the younger players.

And to be perfectly honest, we need something else to talk about as the 6,7,10... page threads are yawn inducing at this point.

You can get a pretty good feel for the teams that play aggressive hockey when you review a couple of things. First, many tournaments track penalty minutes. Second, teams that don't get their Fair Play Points from the District lose them because of excessive penalties.

I would say the tournament tracking might be the best indicator. And again, the team might not be dirty, just playing a physical brand of hockey.

And one more point to bring up. My daughter plays at the U10A level. The best players we see are fast, strong, aggressive and decisive. When they are defenders and make plays against girls (quite often wingers being "hidden" or "covered by others") without that aggression, those other girls fall, and the aggressive gals go to the penalty box.

We have a couple gals on our team that go to the penalty box almost every game, but nobody watching them would call them dirty, especially if they were boys. Therein lies one of the big problems with girls' hockey, especially at my daughter's level.
