Big win for Wayzata. Should put them where they belong in the top 5 or 6 in AA. Good depth, goalie and coaching.

Is Blaine overrated? Loss to EGF and a shutout loss, wow.

Eh, I still think Blaine is overrated. Good win for Wayzata, nonetheless.

"WOW" You really dislike Blaine. You or your kid go to a rival school?
Hill lost, STA lost twice, MG lost twice, Eden Prairie got destroyed twice. Nothing about them being overrated. You always want to take a shot at Blaine. How about Elk River being overrated this entire season so far.
I figured it out. You must be from Elk River. That explains a lot. Why so bitter towards Blaine? I thought this senior group of ER kids has had Blaine's number all the way through youth hockey.
And, no I am not from Blaine. I live nowhere near the Cities. I am just a hockey fan who is tired of adults like you taking high school hockey too personally. Whatever happened let it go.

The only Championship that matters is the one in March.

Blaine is a much better team than that showing. But Wayzata came to play, and they were two strides ahead the whole way. Overrated? ??? They've played much better hockey than this. Could go either way.

qGuess you will have to stop reading this forum if your tired of adults taking HS hockey seriously.

Blaine is definitely not overrated. They are a top 5 team in the state.

Besides, adults take youth hockey (to) seriously, so why not HS hockey too, eh ?

I said "too personally" not too seriously. There is a big difference between the two.

Blaine may, in fact, be a better team than they show, but lets be honest: they are overrated. They have been ranked in the top 5 all year and the best team they have beaten is...Maple Grove. You cant blame shaver for calling them overrated.

I think Blaine is overrated. It is not what he said, but how he said it. Being from Elk River, he likes taking cheap shots at Blaine.

Shoots, you need to stop reading into the posts to much, Just trying to generate good conversation. Was asking a question of what people thought of Blaine, I think Blaine has some of the best players in the state and thought "wow" how do they get shut out. The only other thing that was ever said about Blaine is that they are only missing a top flight goalie. Which we all know is a real possibility.

Blaine had more zone pressure than Wayzata, but Wayzata played a physical and tight defensive game. They also capitalized on their chances with a couple nice plays and snipes. Blaine never got a sniff at a rebound and no shots came easy for them. This reminded me of how good Wayzata looked last year in the section finals except that now they're a bit bigger and stronger. Definitely a top 3 team right now.

I don't really think anyone is overrated I just think this year is wide open and that we will see a lot of upsets come section/state tourney time. Each section (except for section 1) seems to have one or two teams that could really take out the top team this year.
1: Lakeville North seems to be a shoe in
2: Edina-Burnsville-Jefferson-PL
3: STA-Eagan-Eastview-Cretin
4: Hill (probably a shoe in but never know with WBL)
5: Blaine-MG-Centennial
6: EP-BSM-Wayzata-Tonka-HF-Hopkins???
7: GR-East-ER
8: Roseau-Moorhead-Bemidji
I think all the teams listed above have a real shot to make state and with the exception of section 1 it's wide open. I think it will be too hard to determine who is #1 or #6 or #7 or #12. Gonna have to wait and see who's the most prepared and ready come playoffs. Injuries can factor in as well.
