Does anyone know of any supplemental full season training for peewees? My son is a first year peewee and would probably be a b1 player in a large association with AA, A and 2 b1 teams. But he is injured and will not be trying out. He will be placed in the c team. Its a new association so they dont know him so not able to judge on past performance. I am hoping to find him a consistent supplemental training 1-2 times per week. He is a rink rat but as a c peewee he will get about 20 or so hours less than he normally would.

Map North out of the SuperRink does "ID hockey" year round.

Small group sessions, not sure exactly on the details or if still offered. But it was there and available this time last year.

Edina wasn't even that large in PW last year. :)

Take over the team parent role, and sell your son's team on the benefits of extra ice time. Be creative and try to schedule a bunch of extra home and home games. Always have your team prepared to say "yes" when people call with last minute "scrimmages" or even low cost tourney entries.

You could also get him 10 session on a skating treadmill and pick up some Christmas or fall break clinics. Those are usually pretty inexpensive (the treadmill sessions will run you around $350).

Buddy told that that some cities in MN have "outdoor rinks" where kids can skate outside. Not sure if this is true.

But we've all been told by the best instructors that bad habits are created on the outdoor ice.......?

I'd much rather drive two hours and spend forty dollars for an hour of indoor ice..... Better to be safe.

:D

Tell me one city in Minnesota who does not have a handful of outdoor rinks. Within a mile radius from my house, there are 5 outdoor rinks although not a single indoor rink.
