Thx Roy!Roy01 wrote:I had participated in this league a few years back. It's not the biggest for scouting, (within league play) but people do show every now and then. I was fortunate enough to play on the leagues "All-Star Team" (no idea if they still do that...) but we played in the NAHL Showcase at the super rink which allowed great scouting opportunities. Also, I am not sure who the coaches are now in the league, but when I played they were very well connected and helped me in contacts.
For overall playing experience, I thought it was worthwhile. Games were competitive and the caliber of players is far from poor. There are some very good skaters on the ice.
I would strongly recommend it. If nothing else it will help keep his legs moving before the season.

Definitely correct about who knows who in Elite League. If coach not involved or player from a top(private) program has odds stacked against them.Marty McSorely wrote:My understanding this is for the kid's who didn't know the right people for the Elite League and are too old for Elite D. Sounds like they are working toward playing the Elite D teams along with a couple of other teams that are around.
Like most other things your kid will get out of it what he puts in.

Heard that the invites for both Elite League roster spots and Elite League tryouts have already gone out.
For those who were disappointed with how it went last year...are there better pre-season alternatives for the kids who didn't get an invite (as well as for the kids who were invited to try out next month but don't make a team)?
What did it cost to do Gopher League last year?
Maybe the AAA Blades Midget Major team is an
I believe the AAA major blades team is invite only. They had a great team last fall.

Instead of playing against the same group of kids you get to skate against Chicago Fury, Young Americans, Madison Capitals and more.almostashappy wrote:preferhockey wrote:Would not recommend. The Elite League and some of the inside baseball there also is a reason to go with the Blades. Said it last year, but the Blades could expand to 2-3 Midget Major teams of seniors and take the top seniors in the state - playing an internal "elite league" type schedule while also getting to play some of the Midget Major competition they will see next year when they try to move to juniors.
9-6-13 to 10-17-13. Super Rink, mostly weekends.grandmeadowhockeyfan wrote:Where is the tourney and dates please.
