Yes. This is a great read.
I love the Herb Brooks perspective (albeit very unrealistic)...how hockey would be better if we played Elm Street vs. Oak Street. More kids, less attrition.
I speak to people from Duluth all the time...the first thing I tell them is "don't get rid of your neighborhood hockey programs, they are a jewel.."
Short version: There are 10 or so neighborhood Mite/Squirt programs based on neighborhood, not high school (Congdon, Glen Avon, Portman, Woodland, etc)..they play mostly outdoors and mostly against one another. Ask any kid in Duluth and they will say winning the City Championship in Duluth is their hockey highlight.

Tony, thanks for sharing. This is outstanding. A great concept and very well written. I'm sharing this with everyone I know and will be sure they forward to all the goalies in their life.
