Number 4(4.) are all former District 10 kids trying to regain what was not offered to them in their youth.

TS,
Enjoy your work and site.
You and I have both posted in the past about the region set-up this year and the possibility of teams not "giving their all" for seeding purposes. That being said, I am troubled by the complaints about Jefferson playing its "B" goalie in a district game. Maybe I am missing something. At what point during districts should the Jefferson coach have played the "B" goalie? If Jefferson had won the semi game against EP, would it have been appropriate to switch to the "B" goalie for the finals? And what about regions / state? A possible twelve games (four in districts, five in regions and three at state) is an awful long time to sit a player who is on the team, and whose parents presumably payed the same fees / assessments as the other parents did.

Ok, if no reply from Tony, what is the view from others who have criticized the Jefferson decision?

If the coaches were rotating goalies every game without regard to who the competition was, then it was the right thing to do. However, I thought I read that the other goalie was getting more games than the goalie from that game anyway. If that is that is the case, it would appear the coach wasn't trying to win the game.
Unfortunately, at this time of the hockey season, teams often shorten their benches and play their best goalie more. It's all part of trying to get that elusive state championship.

Nasty observation by the writer. I'm sure the goalie gave it his all. Who knows what the result would have been with the other goalie and it's ridiculous to speculate. I'm glad this kid got to play.

Sorry GJ,
I am not sure I have an opinion on the topic. I just think the outcome would have been different had their "A" goalie played. That being said, I included it into the post because it was an odd game with an odd feel to it.
I get what you're saying about the PT. My context was less ripping the coach and the situation and more about the weirdness of the rink that night.

You have zero clue what you are talking about... The girl goalie hardly played all year. They (coaches) knew what they were doing when they tanked the first game against EP... Playing some unheard of team in the South now-pathetic. It was their goal all along. Outcome could have been different with the best goalie in D6. I know one would not have gone in from the red..
Lesson it taught the kids was a really bad one. I would if a parent of a kid set them straight and explain how wrong that was.
Kudos to the EP, Tonka and Edina coaches for playing to win.

Is there any good reason why D10 can't switch up their weekend and let teams go to Fargo?
Is it all about making $?

D2 did away w/squirt playoffs because Fargo is such a cool deal. 128 squirt teams it's fun for the kids/familys.

I'm sure the D10 teams would choose Fargo if they were *allowed the choice.
How did Forest Lake do this year/Fargo?
*Iron fist

A's went 3-2. The b team "Ithink" was 2-3. The kids played teams from all over North America.
EEL POUT

How about it is late in the game and Virginia "B" Squirts are up 4 to 1 over International Falls and all of a sudden the horn sounds the refs are blowing whistles like crazy and than the score keeper says "EEL POUT TIME OUT" to give International Falls a break to catch their breath.
Only up "NORT"

That wasn't quite so odd, given that in an International Falls game earlier in the day, one of the I Falls contingent actually threw one on the ice - which prompted a real "EEL POUT TIME OUT" while they scooped the thing off the ice.
