#10 BSM and the Goals of MN Hockey

I think this situation and others like it need to be talked about.

is the MN hockey system built to teach, prepare and promote kids for the next level?

who's interest was in mind while being kicked off the team? because he drew attention from a level above? got asked to come visit the team and talk with Joe Sakic while they were honoring him at a local game? is this not what we want for our hockey players? to see them move on? and enjoy watching their attempt at success? clearly the action that the coaching staff took on this was NOT trying to promote to the next level, Kicked off the team?? really? one of the top 97's in the state getting a real look by a major junior team is pretty awesome, weather you like the Major Junior route OR the NCAA route I think we all can agree that #10 is a very good hockey player and the coaches kicked him off the team so he can't even skate.

My question is - is the goal of MN hockey to make and promote kids to the highest level of the game? or set up a system of HS teams with the power to stop that, this is a rare deal I know, but these types of kids are rare and now 1 of our own (sought after MN Hockey Player) just got kicked off the team by a HS coach.

It makes me sick to think that a HS coach would treat one of OUR top kids this way, almost like the coach is acting like it's about him and not about him getting one of our own ready for the next level, I want as many MN kids to reach the highest level regardless of where they played, and BSM just proved that they are not on board with pimping our own unless it benefits HIM.

I know other situations like this are going on, I'm just confused why we don't pimp these kids more

It's obviously an unfortunate situation for the kid, but I think you could argue that missing practice for your current team to visit a team that you don't play for could result in an unexcused absence. Personally, I wouldn't have kicked the kid off the team but I believe it's the coach's prerogative to do so. His job is to do what's best for BSM, not a team in Vancouver. Couldn't he have waited a month until the season was over? He made a choice.

This is a HS topic, not youth.
(Wrong forum.)
And it is not a MH (Minnesota Hockey) matter (even though some may think it is) that they have any jurisdiction over.
