I'm kinda hoping Red Wing beats Blake. I understand Warroad beat Blake 12-3 without their star, but still cannot see it being that interesting of a game. I think it would be more fun to see what Schammel and co. could do even though they'll probably lose too.

I say may the best team win! Whichever team comes out on top will have earned the right to take on the mighty Warriors! And that could very well be Red Wing who I thought looked very good today.

I thought so too. I think Red Wing and Blake should be a good semi.

Warroad I hear is the team to beat... Haven't seen them.
Have seen Red Wing 4 times this year, and sure like what Schammel, 2- Haley's and Stegora can bring on the offensive end of the rink... Paige will be going to the Gophers next year, Schammel has verbally committed to Minnesota State - Mankato, and I have no doubt that Regan & Stegora will both be D1 hockey players as well... Nice bunch for a small town team...
What they will need to do is play better team defense against Blake and possibly Warroad, and that will be their challenge to win 3 games at state....
Like to see them do well!

New Ulm-Warroad - uh oh, flood gates opening up.

I tuned in about two-thirds of the way through the 2nd period and couldn't believe it was only 2-0. New Ulm hung in there really well for over half the game...Now 6-0 after two.

I know it won't happen but wish it were at Ridder. Sure looks bare.

Sigh...I'm giving up on the video stream. Freezing and having to refresh every couple minutes to restart it.

Not having any freezing issues but the picture quality is poor.
P.S. No score after one.

3-0 SSP. Team has good speed, skill, and goaltending. Palmquist is still the best coach in either girls or boys IMO.

I agree that he is an excellent coach. At a certain point, it is hard to compare, because there are so many coaches that do a great job and they each are dealt different hands in terms of talent. But Palmquist definitely plays his hand well, year in and year out.

I should have said he is the best coach with an established program.
1-0 EP. Forest Lake deserved to give up that goal when the defense passed across the center ice with EP right next to them

Hoping a bit more from Wolf. Eagan looks like their outmatched. 1-0.

There we go. 1-1. Wolf seems to have the uncanny ability to look like she's doing nothing and than all of a sudden she's skated right around the D.

That is a great photo of EP's #15 right now at Hockey Hub.

Eyes on the puck as she's "falling down"

I like to do this every year with the best jerseys. I'm going with New Ulm and Eagan. I prefer the dark over the white, but Hill's looked pretty good too.

I'm not sure I follow the difference, typically don't the established programs have the coaches who are quality? Are you saying there are coaches at non-established programs who are better than palmquist? A guy who holds the record for tourney appearances, titles, and has been a fixture in the girls game since it's inception?

What is sad tonight is Irondale is playing a pretty darn good game and yet Tonka is still handling them with ease. It's going to take a monumental effort for anyone to beat Tonka...

It is gonna be tough, but judging by the number of odd-man rushes Tonka is giving up there is a chance.

Yeah I thought that too. And since I think they'll breeze through tomorrow night's game as well, a loss will have to be in the championship. What I'm interested to see is how hungry Tonka is. Going for a 3rd straight title is nice, but either HM or EP is going to be really hungry. And we know EP has already beaten Tonka once.

From the little I've seen EP is the bigger threat. HM is balanced throughout, but EP's best players are elite.

Yikes! I don't care what the announcer said. That's just a bad goal to give up. Just inside the red line.

The announcer said it was from 130 feet out, which was just a bit of an exaggeration!

Watching the replay, Joyce actually made contact halfway between the red line and the blue line, which would be approximately 65-70 feet out from the net. It was a big time blast to be sure, but I agree 100% that the goalie needs to stop those. In her defense she has made a number of huge saves also. Despite Lakeville North's huge advantage in shots, NWC is still very much in it.

You can't have a night game with OT.

Tonka played one solid period (1st) and then coasted. They won't be able to get away with that the next 2 games (if they survive LN).
